Frog eat frog: exploring variables influencing anurophagy
Background. Frogs are generalist predators of a wide range of typically small prey items. But descriptions of dietary items regularly include other anurans, such that frogs are considered to be among the most important of anuran predators. However, the only existing hypothesis for the inclusion of anurans in the diet of post-metamorphic frogs ...

The design employs heterogeneous wettability surfaces that construct stable oil‐water interfaces to achieve robust and rapid reversible adhesion. Linear enhancement of adhesion strength is realized through multi‐interface patterning. This adhesive enables rapid on‐demand detachment within five seconds via voltage‐induced electrolysis, offering a level ...

Alsodes verrucosus (Philippi, 1902) (Anura, Alsodidae): a new locality for a very poorly known species [PDF]
We report the presence of Alsodes verrucosus (Philippi, 1902) in Cayutué, Los Lagos Region, Chile, extending this species’ geographic distribution 65 km south of the previously southernmost record.

The critical density for the frog model is the degree of the tree
The frog model on the rooted d-ary tree changes from transient to recurrent as the number of frogs per site is increased. We prove that the location of this transition is on the same order as the degree of the tree.Comment: 12 pages; final published ...

The action spectrum of a tailored azobenzene is shifted toward bio‐optical window through the chemical modification of its singlet and triplet energy levels. Consequently, the bidirectional photo‐switching of azobenzene in physiological conditions is achieved when excited by red and far‐red light, which offers greater tissue penetration.

Body Mass Shapes Most Life History Traits and a Fast‐Slow Continuum in Amphibians
Amphibians have the least studied life histories among vertebrates, although they have unique and the most diverse life histories within this group. We compiled a new dataset on adult body mass and 16 other life history traits of 2069 amphibian species ...

The weakly‐solvating TFMSPyr electrolyte tailors the Li+ solvation structure by suppressing solvent coordination and promoting anion‐dominated solvation. This unique solvation environment induces preferential anion decomposition at electrode interfaces, forming robust inorganic rich S/CEI.

Drivers of Anuran Assemblage Structure in a Subtropical Montane Region
Elevation gradients provide excellent semi‐experimental conditions to investigate how the spatial distribution of biodiversity is shaped by the environment. Here, we investigate how temperature, productivity, and elevation are related to the diversity of

Trends in anuran mate choice (Amphibia) in the scientific literature [PDF]
Anura, one of the most studied taxa regarding intersexual selection, has been considered a model for experiments on female preferences for decades. Despite this, there is still much to learn about most species and different topics.
