SNP markers associated with resistance to frosty pod and black pod rot diseases in an F1 population of Theobroma cacao L. [PDF]
AbstractEconomically, cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) is a major tropical commodity for the Americas; however, severe losses due to Moniliophthora roreri (Cif. and Par.), which causes frosty pod rot (FPR), and Phytophthora spp., which causes black pod rot (BPR), have reduced cacao production in the Americas.

Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Phylogenetic Affinity in the Potential Antagonism of Trichoderma spp. against Moniliophthora roreri
Frosty pod rot, caused by the fungus Moniliophthora roreri, is one of the most important diseases of cacao in Peru. Sustainable alternatives to control it include timely cultural practices such as pruning, and the application of biological control agents

In Mexico, Theobroma cacao is affected by the black pod rot (BPR) caused by Phytophthora capsici. Currently, an epidemiological study of this disease is lacking. The objective was to determine the influence of climate, fruit set and the incidence of cacao frosty pod rot (Moniliophthora roreri) on the epidemic intensity of BPR in five locations in ...

A novel method for estimating P&Ds related yield loss in cacao pods in the Peruvian Amazonia [PDF]
Cacao pest and diseases (P&Ds) infect and affect their hosts in specific ways, which adds complexity to study their global impact on production. Commonly, incidence is used as an indicator to evaluate P&Ds, however, it does not provide any information on

Effect of the pod production dynamic of the cocoa tree and inoculum sources on the Frosty Pod Rot (Moniliophthora roreri) development : (Internship undertaken from 01/31 to 07/30/13) [PDF]
Frosty Pod Rot (FPR) is caused by the fungus Moniliophtora roreri. This is a serious disease and can cause up to 80% of yield loss. Currently, the disease management control is tough: it consists in weekly removal pods and diseased pods must be buried. Until now, very few studies were conducted on the factors influencing pods infection, but it is known
