Effect of the Interaction Between Pre-pregnancy Body Mass Index and Fresh/Frozen Embryo Transfer on Perinatal Outcomes of Assisted Reproductive Technology-Conceived Singletons: A Retrospective Cohort Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2020
Objective: To demonstrate the association between pre-pregnancy maternal overweight, obesity, and perinatal outcomes of singletons conceived by assisted reproductive technology (ART).Design: Retrospective cohort study from 2006 to 2015 data from a single

In vitro production of bovine embryos derived from individual donors in the Corral® dish [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Since the identity of the embryo is of outmost importance during commercial in vitro embryo production, bovine oocytes and embryos have to be cultured strictly per donor.

A Modular Bioinstructive Platform Reveals Mechanistic Insights into Additive‐Free, Topography‐Driven Osteogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered microparticle topographies direct human mesenchymal stem cell osteogenesis without biochemical additives. This osteogenic commitment is driven by canonical Hedgehog signaling and followed by temporal IGF‐II engagement. Two‐photon polymerization demonstrates spatial control, enabling the engineering of topographical gradients that pattern ...

Factors Affecting Frozen Embryo Transfer Success Rates

open access: yesMiddle East Fertility Society Journal
Abstract Background This study aims to identify factors influencing the outcomes of frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles. Methods A prospective observational study was conducted on participants who underwent FET of autologous embryos after endometrial preparation with hormone therapy.

Mitochondria directly influence fertilisation outcome in the pig [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The mitochondrion is explicitly involved in cytoplasmic regulation and is the cell's major generator of ATP. Our aim was to determine whether mitochondria alone could influence fertilisation outcome.

Extracellular Vesicles Modulation by an Adiponectin Receptor Agonist Provides Cardioprotection for Myocardial Ischemic Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that ALY688, a drug mimicking the heart‐protective hormone adiponectin, reduces myocardial ischemia injury. ALY688 increases the production of extracellular vesicles, which carry protective cargo including adiponectin itself.
