MV-Algebras and Abelian l-Groups: a Fruitful Interaction
2002Introduced by Chang in the late fifties, MV-algebras stand to Łukasiewicz’s infinite-valued propositional logic as boolean algebras stand to the classical propositional calculus. As stated by Chang in his original paper, “MV is supposed to suggest many-valued logics … for want of a better name”. The name has stuck.

Grouping of jamun genotypes based on fruit quality parameters
Indian Journal of Horticulture, 2020An experiment was conducted during 2017 and 2018 to study the jamun genotypes based on fruit qualityparameters. Results indicated that, genotype ‘Konkan Bahadoli’ showing maximum fruit length (3.55 cm), fruitwidth (2.5 cm), and fruit weight (13.16g). Lowest recorded in ‘Dharwad-12’. The genotype ‘konkan Bahadoli’given maximum seed length (2.5cm), width

Resolving the space-group ambiguity of crystals of tomato fruit polygalacturonase
Acta Crystallographica Section D Biological Crystallography, 2003The first polygalacturonase from a plant, tomato fruit PG2, has been crystallized and data have been collected to a resolution of 1.87 A. The autoindexing program strongly favors one of the primitive orthorhombic cells. A plausible molecular-replacement solution for two molecules in the asymmetric unit has been found for data assigned to space group P2(

Adaptive multi-group fruit fly optimization algorithm
2019 34rd Youth Academic Annual Conference of Chinese Association of Automation (YAC), 2019Aiming at the defects that the basic fruit fly optimization algorithm has low control precision and is easy to fall into local optimum, an adaptive multi-group fruit fly optimization algorithm is proposed. Due to the constant step size, the basic fruit fly algorithm has a lack of convergence efficiency and optimization precision.

Predicting fruit consumption: A multi-group application of the Theory of Planned Behavior
Appetite, 2020The main aim of the study was to test a two-wave longitudinal prediction model for the consumption of at least three portions of fruit per day, that was grounded on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB; Ajzen, 1991), extended with measures of past behavior and self-identity as a healthy eater.

Comparative fruit studies in a group of tribe Peucedaneae (Umbelliferae)
Israel Journal of Plant Sciences, 2001Comparative fruit studies (macro- and micro-morphology and anatomy) have been undertaken in a group of tribe Peucedaneae (Umbelliferae) (Malabaila Hoffm.,Pastinaca L., Heracleum L., Stenotaenia Boiss., Opopanax W.D.J. Koch, andGrafia Rchb.). A multivariate analysis was carried out using Simple Matching Coefficient and UPGMA (unweighted pair group ...

Consumption of fruit, vegetables, and other food groups and the risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma
Cancer Causes & Control, 2013The role of dietary habits in the etiology of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) has been extensively investigated in high-incidence areas, but evidence is scanty in low-incidence populations. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between NPC risk and a wide range of food groups in the Italian population. We conducted a hospital-based case ...

Fruit availability, chimpanzee diet, and grouping patterns on Rubondo Island, Tanzania
American Journal of Primatology, 2007AbstractWe examined seasonal patterns of fruit availability, dietary quality, and group size in the descendants of an introduced chimpanzee population on Rubondo Island, Tanzania. The site has supported a free‐ranging population without provisioning for 40 years.
