PROBÍRKA PLŮDKŮ JABLONÍ ODRŮDY ‘GOLDEN DELICIOUS’ INDUKOVANÁ POMOCÍ CÍLENÝCH OŠETŘENÍ ČÁSTÍ KORUNY [FRUIT THINNING IN APPLE VARIETY ‘GOLDEN DELICIOUS’ INDUCED BY AIMED APPLICATIONS ON PART OF THE CROWN ] [PDF]

open access: yesVědecké Práce Ovocnářské, 2023
Chemical thinning is currently the most utilized way of crop load regulation in apples to attain desired marketable fruit size. In intensive densely planted orchards, the lower part of crowns is more shaded and its response to chemical thinning can be ...

Fruit Numbers, Fruit Size, and Yield Relationships in ‘McIntosh’ Apples1

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Horticultural Science, 1977
Abstract In 3 ‘McIntosh’ apple ( Malus domestica Borkh.) orchards, yield was positively related to fruit numbers, but negatively related to fruit size. Increases in fruit size from thinning were proportionately less than decreases in fruit numbers.

Bioinspired Morphology‐Decoupled Soft Gripper with Enhanced Bidirectional Grasping Capability

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological predation, a novel gripper decouples cross‐modal grasping via dual morphological configurations. Synergistically integrating hybrid rigid and soft coupled fingers with a metamaterial palm, the system performs active compliant grasping for static objects and passive cage capture for dynamic targets.

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.

Noninvasive Focal Gene Delivery into the Cerebellum of Non‐Human Primates using Focused Ultrasound

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Focal and non‐invasive viral vector delivery in non‐human primates remains a major challenge in translational neuroscience. Low‐intensity focused ultrasound was used to transiently open the blood–brain barrier and enable targeted gene delivery to the cerebellum.

Summer pruning of sweet cherry trees and an inquiry of winter frost damages

open access: yesInternational Journal of Horticultural Science, 2011
One of the most demanded research projects is the intensification of fruit production. The use of dwarfing stocks is a moderate solution as their effect is scarcely satisfactory.

A Supramolecular Reversible and Anisotropic Conductive Adhesive for Flexible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Supramolecular network‐based nanocomposites are developed as a stretchable conductive adhesive for flexible electronics. It's as convenient as traditional solders and constructs anisotropic conductive and robust stretchable connections among diverse soft/rigid materials.
