Edible Pneumatic Battery for Sustained and Repeated Robot Actuation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents an edible energy source and valve system to power soft, pneumatically driven edible robots. A chemical reaction between sodium bicarbonate and citric acid generates carbon dioxide gas, and a pressure‐triggered edible valve enables self‐repetitive motion of the edible actuator.

Automated Benchmarking of Variable‐Property Soft Robotic Fingertips to Enable Task‐Optimized Sensor Selection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sensorized fingertips are needed to unlock robotic dexterity, versatility, and diverse interactions. Here, 15 identically‐shaped robotic fingertips are benchmarked by a fully automated toolchange system, covering eight different materials and six broadly‐ranging sensing mechanisms.

Yield determination in olive hedgerow orchards. I. Yield and profiles of yield components in north–south and east–west oriented hedgerows

open access: yes, 2009
A study of the vertical distribution of flowering and fruit set and of components of yield (fruit numbers, fruit size, and fruit oil content) was maintained for 2 years in N–S- and E–W-oriented olive hedgerows of comparable structure (row spacing 4m ...

Pembuahan Salak Gulapasir Di Luar Musim Berkualitas Standar Salak Indonesia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Salak (Salacca- Zalacca var Amboinensis) cv. Gulapasir is a superior product of Bali region, because the sweet fruit flavor, no taste astringent, thick flesh and seeds are not attached to the flesh of fruit, so that the price is 4-6 times more expensive ...

Homoisoflavanone Delays Colorectal Cancer Progression via DNA Damage‐Induced Mitochondrial Apoptosis and Parthanatos‐Like Cell Death

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Homoisoflavanone (HIF), a bioactive compound isolated from Polygonatum kingianum, selectively suppresses colorectal cancer progression by inducing DNA damage‐mediated mitochondrial apoptosis and parthanatos‐like cell death. HIF triggers mitochondrial dysfunction, including depolarized membrane potential, elevated ROS, and ATP depletion, while impairing

Summer pruning of sweet cherry trees and an inquiry of winter frost damages

open access: yesInternational Journal of Horticultural Science, 2011
One of the most demanded research projects is the intensification of fruit production. The use of dwarfing stocks is a moderate solution as their effect is scarcely satisfactory.

Fruit size QTLs affect in a major proportion the yield in tomato

open access: yes, 2015
Yield is a complex trait that is affected by several genetic and environmental factors. Yield is defined as the amount of the part of interest that is harvested from a crop plant in a given area.

Fruit production is influenced by tree size and size‐asymmetric crowding in a wet tropical forest

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2019
In tropical forest communities, seedling recruitment can be limited by the number of fruit produced by adults. Fruit production tends to be highly unequal among trees of the same species, which may be due to environmental factors.
