Impact of Positive Lifestyle Behaviors on Direct Health Care Cost Savings for Low Back Pain
Objective This study aimed to investigate the relationship between a previously purpose‐developed lifestyle behavior scale and health care cost savings related to low back pain (LBP). Methods This longitudinal study used data from the Australian Twin Back (AUTBACK) study. LBP and lifestyle behavior measures were collected at baseline. Physical activity

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Membrane Wrapping for High Capacity and Rapidly Switchable Adhesives
A membrane‐wrapping mechanism enables high‐capacity, rapidly switchable adhesion by coupling suction, friction, and adhesion. Broadband performance is achieved in dry and underwater conditions, allowing fast, reversible manipulation of objects of diverse sizes and shapes, from delicate eggs and berries to flat, complex, or heavy objects. These outcomes

Dicarboxylate‐modified anionic hairy cellulose nanocrystals exhibit a high selectivity for dysprosium(III) over neodymium(III). This selectivity arises from disordered dicarboxylate cellulose “hairs” that enable cooperative ionic coordination, hydrogen bonding, and strain‐induced conformational shrinkage.

Mechanical Fruit Thinning Influences Fruit Quality, Yield, Return Fruit Set, and Cold Injury of Pecan [PDF]
Pecan [Carya illinoinensis (Wangenh.) C. Koch] fruit were thinned from `Mohawk' trees in Oklahoma and `Giles' trees in Kansas with a mechanical trunk shaker. All trees bore an excessive crop load before shaking. Fruit thinning improved the kernel percentage, individual nut weight, and kernel grade of `Mohawk', but nut characteristics of `Giles' were ...
