Association of FTO and TMEM18 polymorphisms with overweight and obesity in the population of Polish children

open access: yesAnthropological Review, 2016
The objective of the study was to verify whether or not FTO rs9939609, rs9926289 and TMEM18 rs4854344, rs6548238, rs2867125 variants are important risk factors for overweight and/or obesity in Polish children aged 6-16 (n=283).

Thermodynamic Limits to Molecular Doping in Conjugated Polymers: A Perspective on Phase Behavior and Miscibility

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular doping of conjugated polymers is fundamentally constrained by thermodynamic phase behavior. This Perspective reframes doping efficiency and stability in terms of miscibility limits, binodals, and solvus boundaries, highlighting the role of effective interaction parameters and charge transfer.

Electroacupuncture-induced reduction of myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury via FTO-dependent m6A methylation modulation

open access: yesOpen Medicine
This study aims to investigate the potential of electroacupuncture to mitigate myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury (MIRI) by influencing N6-methyladenosine (m6A) methylation through modulation of the fat mass and obesity-associated protein (FTO).

Synthesis of a FTO Inhibitor with Anticonvulsant Activity

open access: yesACS Chemical Neuroscience, 2014
We describe the rationale for and the synthesis of a new class of compounds utilizing a modular approach that are designed to mimic ascorbic acid and to inhibit 2-oxoglutarate-dependent hydroxylases. Preliminary characterization of one of these compounds indicates in vivo anticonvulsant activity (6 Hz mouse model) at nontoxic doses, inhibition of the 2-

Operation Limits of Integrated Photo‐Rechargeable Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study elucidates the operational limitations of integrated photo‐rechargeable batteries. We demonstrate that the photo‐charging process is fundamentally restricted not only by material‐to‐material energy level alignment but also by transient capacitive charge accumulation within the cathode framework.
