Fatigue Test on a Full Scale Panel

Key Engineering Materials, 2006
Fatigue test on a full scale panel with complex loading and geometry has been carried out by using a tri-axial test machine located in the laboratory of the University of Naples. The aeronautical test panel was designed and manufactured by Alenia. The demonstrator is made up of two parts which are linked by a transversal joint that is parallel to the ...

Full-Scale Fairing Qualification Tests

Journal of Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, 2015
Production risers as well as drilling risers are often exposed to ocean currents. Vortex-induced vibrations (VIVs) have been observed in the field and can cause fatigue failure and excessive drag on the riser. In order to suppress VIV, fairings are often used.

Rockfall Full Scale Field Tests

2013
The phenomenon of rockfall along slopes is an environmental risk that frequently occurs in mountainous regions. In this phenomenon are directly involved infrastructures (railways, ordinary roads or highway) but also residential areas as well as individual structures are also interested in prevention and defense.

Full-scale collision tests

Safety Science, 1995
The Association for Structural Improvement of Shipbuilding Industry (ASIS) and the Netherlands Foundation for the Coordination of Maritime Research (CMO) jointly conducted a series of collision tests on full-scale ships in December 1991. Four different tests were carried out using two fully instrumented tankers for inland waterway navigation.

Full-scale testing of fuselage panels

2001 IEEE Autotestcon Proceedings. IEEE Systems Readiness Technology Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37237), 2002
A unique state-of-the-art facility to assess the structural integrity of aircraft fuselage structure was established at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) William J. Hughes Technical Center. The Full-Scale Aircraft Structural Test Evaluation and Research (FASTER) facility is capable of testing full-scale fuselage panel specimens under conditions

Full-scale aircraft tire pressure tests

2009
This paper describes an outdoor full-scale test planned to improve experimental and theoretical knowledge related to the effects of aircraft internal tire inflation pressure on the behavior and damage of flexible pavement. Since modern aircraft can have tire pressures greater than 15 bar, the tests will focus on pressures from 15 bar to 17.5 bar.

ARKTOS Full-Scale Evacuation Tests

SNAME 8th International Conference and Exhibition on Performance of Ships and Structures in Ice, 2008
The Arktos vehicle is an amphibious craft system capable of operation in a wide range of Arctic ice conditions and seastates. It is approved as an evacuation system by various regulators, such as the US Coast Guard, and is currently operational in several marine cold regions as an EER system.

Full-scale dynamic testing of Dolosse to destruction

Coastal Engineering, 1980
It is well known that the relative dynamic strength of unreinforced slender concrete units decreases as the size increases. Big units can resist relatively smaller movements than small units. When model tests of cover layer stability are performed the determination of the damage criterion that should be adopted must therefore be based on knowledge of ...

Vibration testing of full-scale structures

Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1973
Abstract Vibration testing of nuclear reactor plant systems is discussed as a part of the determination of the response of such systems to earthquakes. The methods of ambient, harmonic excitation, and impulse testing are compared. Harmonic excitation tests provide a method of obtaining the complete dynamic characteristics of a system and of ...
