Full-scale load tests on instrumented micropiles

Geotechnical Engineering, 2004
In September 2001, following an exceptional rainfall event with an estimated return time of about 500 years, a number of ancient buildings located in a restricted area in the historical centre of Napoli underwent significant settlement and heavy structural damage.

A full-scale structural fatigue test program

Journal of Aircraft, 1964
Test methods are described for an experimental fatigue evaluation of a full-scale airplane structure. Specific reference is made to a fatigue test program conducted on the Lockheed P3A wing and gear. A flight-by-flight test loading spectrum comprising 7500 flight hours was constructed to represent the total service experience of the airplane.

Full-scale impact tests on pipelines

International Journal of Impact Engineering, 2006
Abstract There was a possibility that a new submarine pipeline under construction might accidentally fall on an existing pipeline in operation. Full-scale tests were carried out to study what would happen, and to reassure the operator that the existing line would not be ruptured.

Full-Scale Tests of a Railway Bridge

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 1998
Full-scale resonance and ultimate load tests of the Strawberry Park Underpass were conducted in March 1995. This bridge was typical of many railway bridges around the country—a two-span, 45.2-m (148-ft) long ballasted through plate girder railway bridge. It was located in Los Angeles and scheduled for removal in spring 1995.

Dynamic Full-Scale Tests

2016
Shake-table testing of full-scale storage rack systems loaded with real merchandise represents the most direct experimental procedure to assess their seismic behaviour. Unfortunately, this type of testing is expensive compared to other methodologies and only a very limited number of shake-table studies on storage racks have been performed to date in ...

Full-Scale Structural Testing

2001
Abstract This article describes the role of the full-scale testing in assessing composite structural systems of aircraft and qualifying them for in-service use. The typical full-scale tests include static, durability, and damage tolerance.

Full-Scale Fatigue Testing

2016
Full-scale fatigue testing (FSFT) forms an integral part of the aircraft development and certification prior to induction into service. The five historical stages of evolution of FSFT are described with a detailed description of present-day requirements including composite structures. The technology used in the FSFT process is explained in detail.

Resonance Testing of Full-Scale Structures

Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1964
A system of synchronized counter-rotating eccentric weight vibration generators suitable for resonance testing of full-scale structures is described. A special electronically controlled amplidyne drive permits speed control to 0.1% and stable operation in structures having damping as low as 1/2% critical. The force generator units can be distributed in

Full-Scale Structural Testing

Abstract Full-scale structural testing is a critical component of the development, certification, and qualification of aerospace composite structures, providing the most realistic assessment of a structure's in-service performance by evaluating the interrelationships of its critical elements under simulated loading conditions.

Full-Scale Load Testing of Structures

1980
Description A comprehensive guide for load tests on full-scale buildings. This guide complements existing standards for load tests of materials and structural elements. This volume is divided into 2 sections: Objectives, Scope and Techniques of Full-Scale Structural Load Tests; and Application and Interpretation of Results of Load Tests.
