High-Temperature Fatigue Testing of Turbine Blades

open access: yesFatigue of Aircraft Structures
This paper evaluates the efficacy of a patented grip for high-temperature fatigue testing by establishing the S-N curve for full-scale nickel-based turbine blades under simulated environmental conditions.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Fatigue load optimization and test verification of the full-scale aileron

open access: yesJixie qiangdu
In the fatigue test of aircraft wing structural components, the fatigue design loads need to be optimized so as to reduce the bending, shear and torsion load errors applied during the test.

The scaling of model test results to predict intake hot gas reingestion for STOVL aircraft with augmented vectored thrust engines [PDF]

open access: yes
The difficulties of modeling the complex recirculating flow fields produced by multiple jet STOVL aircraft close to the ground have led to extensive use of experimental model tests to predict intake Hot Gas Reingestion (HGR).

AZIPOD Propeller Blade Cavitation Observations During Ship Maneuvering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
This paper presents results of observations of full-scale propeller blade cavitation patterns carried out on the Elation passenger cruiser, the very first ship equipped with AZIPOD electric thrusters. It offers descriptions of test conditions, cavitation

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

An investigation of rotor harmonic noise by the use of small scale wind tunnel models [PDF]

open access: yes
Noise measurements of small scale helicopter rotor models were compared with noise measurements of full scale helicopters to determine what information about the full scale helicopters could be derived from noise measurements of small scale helicopter ...

COMPLIANCE TESTING OF IOWA’S SKID-MOUNTED SIGN DEVICE [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A wide variety of traffic control devices are used in work zones, some of which are nont ormally found on the roadside or in the traveled way outsideofthe work zones.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

F-15 inlet/engine test techniques and distortion methodologies studies. Volume 7: Cross correlation functions. [PDF]

open access: yes
Cross correlation function plots were used to determine if peak distortion data taken from a subscale inlet model can be used to predict peak distortion levels for a full scale flight test ...
