Review Article: Renal Safety Profiles of Tenofovir Alafenamide, Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, and Entecavir for the Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis B Infection—General and Special Populations

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology &Therapeutics, Volume 63, Issue 7, Page 945-954, April 2026.
Current first‐line NUCs show comparable renal safety profiles in CHB patients with no or mild kidney dysfunction, with growing evidence that favours TAF. Future prospective studies are needed to validate these findings, and more research should focus on CHB patients with diabetes mellitus who are at risk of CKD.

Inactivation of CDK12 Enhances Mitochondrial Efficiency to Suppress DNA Damage

open access: yesJournal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Volume 30, Issue 7, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Inactivation of cyclin‐dependent kinase 12 (CDK12) characterizes a subset of prostate cancers but it is not understood how cells adapt to declining activity of this major transcription elongation kinase. To probe this response, we developed a cell line resistant to an inhibitor targeting CDK12 and its paralog, CDK13.

Safety of Ferric Citrate Hydrate in Pregnant Women With Iron Deficiency Anemia, Fetuses, and Newborns: A Real‐World, Observational, Post‐Marketing Surveillance Study

open access: yesJournal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research, Volume 52, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim This post‐marketing surveillance study determined the real‐world use and safety of ferric citrate hydrate (FC) in fetuses and pregnant women with iron deficiency anemia (IDA). Methods Pregnant women with IDA were registered centrally and followed prospectively from the first FC administration until the end of pregnancy or at treatment ...

HBV RNA Predicts the Risk of Off‐Treatment Relapse in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients With NAs Therapy: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Viral Hepatitis, Volume 33, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Since there are currently few antiviral drugs that can effectively reduce hepatitis B surface antigen levels, the recurrence rate remains high in patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) after discontinuing nucleoside analogues (NAs) treatment.

6‐Methylsulfinylhexyl isothiocyanate activates carbonic anhydrase‐dependent HCO3−/H+/Na+/Ca2+ transport via SLC4As–NHE–NCX–PMCA axis in odontoblasts

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 604, Issue 7, Page 2816-2844, 1 April 2026.
Abstract figure legend 6‐Methylsulfinylhexyl isothiocyanate (6‐MSITC, hexaraphane), a wasabi sulfinyl compound, activates intracellular carbonic anhydrase (CA)‐mediated sequential HCO3−, Na+, H+ and Ca2+ transport through an activation axis involving HCO3−‐transporting solute carrier family 4 (SLC4As), the Na+–H+ exchanger (NHE), the Na+–Ca2+ exchanger
