Partition function of free conformal higher spin theory [PDF]
We compute the canonical partition function Z of non-interacting conformal higher spin (CHS) theory viewed as a collection of free spin s CFT's in R^d. We discuss in detail the 4-dimensional case (where s=1 is the standard Maxwell vector, s=2 is the Weyl

Electric-magnetic Duality of Abelian Gauge Theory on the Four-torus, from the Fivebrane on T2 x T4, via their Partition Functions [PDF]
We compute the partition function of four-dimensional abelian gauge theory on a general four-torus T4 with flat metric using Dirac quantization. In addition to an SL(4, Z) symmetry, it possesses SL(2,Z) symmetry that is electromagnetic S-duality. We show

Implicit density-functional theory [PDF]
A fermion ground state energy functional is set up in terms of particle density, relative pair density, and kinetic energy tensor density. It satisfies a minimum principle if constrained by a complete set of compatibility conditions. A partial set, which thereby results in a lower bound energy under minimization, is obtained from the solution of model ...

Toral Algebraic Sets and Function Theory on Polydisks [PDF]
A toral algebraic set $A$ is an algebraic set in $\C^n$ whose intersection with $\T^n$ is sufficiently large to determine the holomorphic functions on $A$.

Entropic Density Functional Theory
A formulation of density functional theory (DFT) is constructed as an application of the method of maximum entropy for an inhomogeneous fluid in thermal equilibrium. The use of entropy as a systematic method to generate optimal approximations is extended from the classical to the quantum domain.

Function theory on the Neile parabola
We give a formula for the Caratheodory distance on the Neile parabola, the variety {z^2=w^3} restricted to the bidisk; thus making it the first variety with a singularity to have its Caratheodory distance explicitly computed.

Preparing an Online Dictionary of Business Communication: From Idea to Design
This article discusses the plan for an online English–Spanish dictionary of business communication based on the function theory. After a short overview of lexicographical traditions within this field, it focuses on the philosophy behind the overall ...
