New Function Spaces Associated to Representations of Nilpotent Lie Groups and Generalized Time-Frequency Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Lie Theory 31 (2021), no. 3, 659-680, 2020
We study function spaces that are related to square-integrable, irreducible, unitary representations of several low-dimensional nilpotent Lie groups. These are new examples of coorbit theory and yield new families of function spaces on $\mathbb{R}^d $.

miRNA‐29 regulates epidermal and mesenchymal functions in skin repair

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
miRNA‐29 inhibits cell‐to‐cell and cell‐to‐matrix adhesion by silencing mRNA targets. Adhesion is controlled by complex interactions between many types of molecules coded by mRNAs. This is crucial for keeping together the layers of the skin and for regenerating the skin after wounding.

MethylToSNP: identifying SNPs in Illumina DNA methylation array data

open access: yesEpigenetics & Chromatin, 2019
Background Current array-based methods for the measurement of DNA methylation rely on the process of sodium bisulfite conversion to differentiate between methylated and unmethylated cytosine bases in DNA.

An application of internal objects to microlocal analysis in generalized function algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We illustrate the use of internal objects in the nonlinear theory of generalized functions by means of an application to microlocal analysis in Colombeau algebras.

Nonlinear functional analysis

open access: yes, 1970
This manuscript provides a brief introduction to nonlinear functional analysis. We start out with calculus in Banach spaces, review differentiation and integration, derive the implicit function theorem (using the uniform contraction principle) and apply ...

Spot‐14 and its paralog Spot‐14R regulate expression of metabolic and thermogenic pathway genes in murine brown and beige adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Spot‐14 and Spot‐14R play distinct roles in regulating metabolism in brown and beige adipocytes. While both influence lipid and glucose pathways, Spot‐14 uniquely controls thermogenic gene expression. This dual regulation balances energy storage and heat production, highlighting potential therapeutic targets for obesity and metabolic disorders. Spot 14

Automatic detection of human gait events: a simple but versatile 3D algorithm

open access: yesJournal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation
Background Detecting Foot Strike and Foot Off events in human gait, which is cyclic yet variable, consistently requires expert correction. This subjective correction can reduce spatiotemporal parameters, joint kinematic and kinetic accuracy, regardless ...

Interaction vesicles as emerging mediators of host‐pathogen molecular crosstalk and their implications for infection dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interaction extracellular vesicles (iEVs) are hybrid vesicles formed through host‐pathogen communication. They facilitate immune evasion, transfer pathogens' molecules, increase host cell uptake, and enhance virulence. This Perspective article illustrates the multifunctional roles of iEVs and highlights their emerging relevance in infection dynamics ...

N-Acetylcysteine, N-Acetylcysteine Amide, and Thioredoxin Mimetic Peptides Regenerate Mercaptoalbumin and Exhibit Antioxidant Activity

open access: yesAntioxidants
Albumin (HSA) is the most abundant circulating protein and plays a pivotal role in maintaining the redox state of the plasma. Three HSA proteoforms have been identified based on the redox state of cysteine 34.
