Explicit functional calculus

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 1973
AbstractThe subject is explicit formulas for f(A), where A is a complex matrix and f a function. For well-known reasons, we may assume (as long as only finitely many matrices are in consideration as arguments at once) that each function f considered is a polynomial.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Logical Calculus Using Fuzzy Formulas

open access: yesНаука и техника, 2005
The paper considers a functionally closed multi-valued calculus with conditional formulas F = {a|b} such that F s a when b = true; F = false when a = false and F = uncertainty in all other cases. A measure function for fuzzy conditional formulas has been

On functional calculus estimates

open access: yes, 2015
This thesis presents various results within the field of operator theory that are formulated in estimates for functional calculi. Functional calculus is the general concept of defining operators of the form $f(A)$, where f is a function and $A$ is an operator, typically on a Banach space. Norm estimates for $f(A)$ emerge in applications naturally, e.g.,

Liquid functional calculus

open access: yes, 2023
We develop an elementary formalism of functional calculus for entire holomorphic functions in the setting of Clausen and Scholze's $p$-liquid vector spaces.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Functional calculus for generators of analytic semigroups of operators

open access: yesKarpatsʹkì Matematičnì Publìkacìï, 2012
We construct a functional calculus for generators of one-parameter boundedanalytic semigroups of operators on a Banach space. The calculus symbol classconsist of the Laplace image of the convolution algebra $cal S'_+$ of tempereddistributions with ...
