Automatic Extraction of Functional Dependencies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper, a new polynomial time technique for extracting functional depedencies in Boolean formulas is proposed. It makes an original use of the well-known Boolean constraint propagation technique (BCP) in a new preprocessing approach that extracts more hidden Boolean functions and dependent variables than previously published approaches on many ...

Health‐Related Quality of Life and Symptom Severity Among Patients With PIK3CA‐Related Overgrowth Spectrum: A Mixed‐Methods Study to Understand Real‐World Experience With Alpelisib Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background PIK3CA‐related overgrowth spectrum (PROS) includes several rare overgrowth disorders resulting from somatic gain‐of‐function mutations in PIK3CA. Despite treatment advances, including the recent approval of alpelisib for PROS in the United States, literature detailing the patient experience with PROS is limited.

Problem Decomposition Method to Compute an Optimal Cover for a Set of Functional Dependencies [PDF]

open access: yesDatabase Systems Journal, 2011
The paper proposes a problem decomposition method for building optimal cover for a set of functional dependencies to decrease the solving time. At the beginning, the paper includes an overview of the covers of functional dependencies.

Spatio-temporal dependencies in functional connectivity in rodent cortical cultures

open access: yesPaladyn, 2011
Models of functional connectivity in cortical cultures on multi-electrodes arrays may aid in understanding how cognitive pathways form and improve techniques that aim to interface with neuronal systems.

Supporting Survivor‐Centered Care Through Digital Health Integration

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Survivors of childhood cancer face barriers to receiving guideline‐based, long‐term follow‐up care. Two digital tools, Passport for Care (PFC) and Cancer SurvivorLink (SurvivorLink), address complementary gaps by enabling tailored survivorship care plan (SCP) generation, updating, storage, and sharing.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Dependence of alternants on functions

open access: yesJournal of Approximation Theory, 1988
The author gives three theorems for the dependence of alternants of f-Tf on f, where Tf is the best approximation to f in the space C(a,b) with Chebyshev norm.

Analysis of Typed Inclusion Dependencies with Null Values

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2017
Null values have become an urgent problem since the creation of the relational data model. The impact of the uncertainty affects all types of dependencies used in the design and operation of the database.

Adding Path-Functional Dependencies to the Guarded Two-Variable Fragment with Counting [PDF]

open access: yesLogical Methods in Computer Science, 2017
The satisfiability and finite satisfiability problems for the two-variable guarded fragment of first-order logic with counting quantifiers, a database, and path-functional dependencies are both ExpTime-complete.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.
