Enhancing Inter functional coordination and marketing performance: utilization of the motivation/ability/opportunity framework [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper integrates a large literature on intra-organisational relationships with the aim to understand how to enhance coordination between different functional units inside an organisation and to empirically examine the impact of inter functional ...

Magnetism in Transition metal doped Cubic SiC

open access: yes, 2011
We report here our study on SiC doped with transition metals using first principle density functional theory calculations. We have considered cubic SiC with 3d transition metals as substitutional impurities for Si and C site separately.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Addressing Prompt Dependency in the Treatment of Challenging Behavior Maintained by Access to Tangible Items

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences
Prompt dependency is a common concern for individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder. Previous research has shown that different interventions can be used to decrease prompt dependency.

Modelling Interdependent Cascading Failures in Real World Complex Networks using a Functional Dependency Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Infrastructure systems are becoming increasingly complex and interdependent. As a result our ability to predict the likelihood of large-scale failure of these systems has significantly diminished and the consequence of this is that we now have a ...

A computational method for the Helmholtz equation in unbounded domains based on the minimization of an integral functional

open access: yes, 2012
We study a new approach to the problem of transparent boundary conditions for the Helmholtz equation in unbounded domains. Our approach is based on the minimization of an integral functional arising from a volume integral formulation of the radiation ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Bernstein Algorithm for Vertical Normalization to 3NF Using Synthesis

open access: yesEkonomski Vjesnik, 2013
This paper demonstrates the use of Bernstein algorithm for vertical normalization to 3NF using synthesis. The aim of the paper is to provide an algorithm for database normalization and present a set of steps which minimize redundancy in order to increase

Changes in daily living dependency and incident depressive symptoms among older individuals: findings from four prospective cohort studies

open access: yesBMJ Mental Health
Background With rapid population ageing, depressive symptoms in older adults have become a pressing public health concern. While functional dependency is a known risk factor, the impact of changes in dependency over time remains unclear. Objective To ...

Marketing Impact on Diffusion in Social Networks

open access: yes, 2016
The paper proposes a way to add marketing into the standard threshold model of social networks. Within this framework, the paper studies logical properties of the influence relation between sets of agents in social networks.
