Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Predation response of Nabis pseudoferus (Hemiptera: Nabidae) on untreated and Metarhizium anisopliae-treated larvae of Tuta absoluta (Lepidoptera: Gelechidae)

open access: yesJournal of Crop Protection, 2019
Functional response is an important behavioral characteristic of prey-predator interactions that can be utilized for assessing impact of natural enemies.

Time-dependent density functional theory for periodic systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
In this thesis the time-dependent version of density functional theory is described, which has been developed for crystalline non-metallic systems with periodicity in one to three dimensions.

The temporal dynamic of response inhibition in early childhood: An ERP study of partial and successful inhibition

open access: yes, 2014
Event-related potentials were recorded while five-year-old children completed a Go/No-Go task that distinguished between partial inhibition (i.e., response is initiated but cancelled before completion) and successful inhibition (i.e., response is ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Habitat Complexity Reduces the Feeding Strength of Freshwater Predators

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
The physical structure of an environment potentially influences feeding interactions among organisms, for instance, by providing refuge for prey. We examined how habitat complexity affects the functional feeding response of an ambush predator (damselfly ...

Effects of focal frontal lesions on response inhibition

open access: yes, 2007
This study examined the performance of 38 normal subjects and 43 patients with focal lesions of the frontal lobes on a simple go-nogo task where the probability of the nogo stimulus was either 75% or 25%.
