On the static deformation and frequency analysis of functionally graded porous circular beams

open access: yesForces in Mechanics, 2022
Due to the availability of limited literature on functionally graded porous circular beams, the static deformation and free vibration analysis of simply supported functionally graded porous circular beams considering the effects of even and uneven ...

Bending and vibration of functionally graded material sandwich plates using an accurate theory

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, the bending and the free flexural vibration behaviour of sandwich functionally graded material (FGM) plates are investigated using QUAD-8 shear flexible element developed based on higher order structural theory.

Three-dimensional free vibration analysis of thermally loaded fgm sandwich plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Using the finite element code ABAQUS and the user-defined material utilities UMAT and UMATHT, a solid brick graded finite element is developed for three-dimensional (3D) modeling of free vibrations of thermally loaded functionally gradient material (FGM)

A nonlocal sinusoidal plate model for micro/nanoscale plates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A nonlocal sinusoidal plate model for micro/nanoscale plates is developed based on Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity theory and sinusoidal shear deformation plate theory.

Does Long‐Term Lower Extremity Strength Training in Adults With Knee Osteoarthritis and Varus Alignment Reduce Knee Joint Loading During Gait?

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We examined whether 18 months of strength training in individuals with knee varus alignment and medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) reduced knee joint loads during walking compared to an attention control group. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial that compared the effects of strength training to a ...

Buckling of Functionally Graded Beams with Rectangular and Annular Sections Subjected to Axial Compression [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology, 2011
The current study presents a new analytical method for buckling analysis of rectangular and annular beams made up of functionally graded materials with constant thickness and Poisson’s ratio.

Thermal buckling of temperature-dependent functionally graded Timoshenko beams [PDF]

open access: yesArchive of Mechanical Engineering, 2019
Thermal buckling behavior of a functionally graded material (FGM) Timoshenko beam is studied based on the transformed-section method. The material and thermal properties of the FGM beam are assumed to vary across the beam thickness according to a power ...

Low‐Cost, Large‐Scale Nanoporous Metals by Mechanical Alloying, Oxide Reduction, and Dealloying of Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

Influence of Porosity on the Free Vibration Response of Sandwich Functionally Graded Porous Beams

open access: yesJournal of Sustainable Construction Materials and Technologies, 2022
Functionally graded materials are composite materials used to build a variety of structures. These structures are used in ships industries, marine, automotive, high building structures, energy engineering applications, and many more. The porosity made in

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.
