Pomological and Biochemical Characterization of Autochthonous Grape Varieties Grown in Türkiye

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Eighteen autochthonous grape genotypes cultivated in Eastern Anatolia (Muş, Türkiye) were comprehensively evaluated for pomological traits, phenolic composition, vitamin C content, and antioxidant capacity. Multivariate analyses (PCA, hierarchical clustering, and correlation) revealed pronounced genotype‐dependent variation and clear trait‐based ...

Antioxidant Response of Lepidium sativum L. to Metallic Trace Element Stress Under Controlled Mycorrhization Conditions

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Lepidium sativum plants were inoculated with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and exposed to Pb stress (50 mg L−1). Catalase activity, soluble sugars, glomalin, proline, and chlorophyll a and b were analyzed. Overall, mycorrhizal plants showed the most favorable biochemical responses under Pb stress, highlighting the beneficial role of AMF in Pb ...

Effects of the HDAC6/8 Inhibitor MC1568, Alone and in Combination With Fluconazole, in Non‐Albicans Candida Species Infections

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 4, August 2026.
This study explores new antifungal strategies to combat non‐albicans Candida species. We tested clinically approved HDAC inhibitors—Vorinostat, Romidepsin, Tucidinostat—and the HDAC6/8‐selective MC1568, alone and with Fluconazole. The Fluconazole/MC1568 combination significantly enhanced antifungal activity and reduced biofilm formation.
