MetalCenter‐Dependent Selectivity Divergence in MN4 Single‐Atom Catalysts for Aerobic HMF Oxidation
Two single‐atom catalysts with M‐N4 configurations (FeN4 and CoN4) were developed for selective HMF oxidation. FeN4 achieves 93.9% selectivity toward FFCA via superoxide anions (O2•−), while CoN4 preferentially produces FDCA through hydroxyl radicals (•OH). DFT calculations reveal that distinct adsorption energies and charge redistribution at the metal

Cyclic diaryliodonium salts engage aryl Grignard reagents to trigger a self‐propagating aryne–arylation cycle. Transient cyclic triaryliodanes serve as aryne precursors and dynamic aryl reservoirs, delivering iodine‐capped teraryls with predominant meta‐selectivity. The preserved C─I bond enables outward π‐extension or inward recyclization.

Dichloromethylation of enones by carbon nitride photocatalysis
Small organic radicals are ubiquitous intermediates in photocatalysis and are used in organic synthesis to install functional groups and to tune electronic properties and pharmacokinetic parameters of the final molecule.

Photooxygenation of furans in water and ionic liquid solutions [PDF]
Photooxygenation of differently functionalized furans is investigated in aqueous solutions and in ionic liquids [emim]Br and [bmim]BF4. The reaction is generally selective and the final products derive from rearrangement of the intermediate ...

High‐Performance Recycling Biobased Photopolymers for 3D Printing
By using biobased phenols like eugenol, novel biobased photopolymers containing dissociative phenol‐carbamate bonds are designed for 3D printing. Meanwhile, a “mixed‐monomer assisted recycling” strategy is proposed to recycle the materials. The resulting materials not only achieve high‐performance and excellent chemical recyclability simultaneously ...

High chemoselectivity in the phenol synthesis
Efforts to trap early intermediates of the gold-catalyzed phenol synthesis failed. Neither inter- nor intramolecularly offered vinyl groups, ketones or alcohols were able to intercept the gold carbenoid species. This indicates that the competing steps of

The title molecular salts, C15H20NO+·C4H3O4−, (I), and C9H15INO+·C4H3O4−, (II), have very similar molecular geometries for both cation and anion. The anions of both (I) and (II) are practically planar (r.m.s. deviations = 0.062 and 0.072 Å, respectively)

The odour of white bread [PDF]
Volatile constituents of white bread were investigated. Different methods were used for isolating and concentrating components to avoid artefacts as far as possible. Especially good was enlarged vapour analysis.

A Cu‐mediated Ni(OH)2 catalyst with orthogonal activity by precise valence engineering simultaneously accelerates rate‐determining aldehyde C─H activation in HMF oxidation and impedes O─H deprotonation in competing OER. This multi‐functional synergistic catalysis enables FDCA production at industrial‐level current densities without sacrificing FEFDCA ...
