Taming of 3,4-Di(nitramino)furazan

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2015
Highly energetic 3,4-di(nitramino)furazan (1, DNAF) was synthesized and confirmed structurally by using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Its highly sensitive nature can be attributed to the shortage of hydrogen-bonding interactions and an interactive nitro chain in the crystal structure.

The Ultraviolet Absorption Spectrum of Furazan

Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1972
The ultraviolet absorption spectrum of furazan (1,2,5-oxadiazole) in the region 2500–2300 Å has been recorded and analyzed as a π→π* transition from the planar ground state to a non-planar excited state having a potential barrier to planarity of about 215 cm−1.

Monocyclic furazans and furoxans

2001
Publisher Summary This chapter covers the chemistry of monocyclic furazans and furoxans. The aim is to present a general picture of more than a century of development in this field. It focuses more on the reactivity of the side-chain functional groups than on the ring synthesis.

Hermetic thermal behaviors and specific heat capacities of bis(aminofurazano)furazan and bis(nitrofurazano)furazan

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2018
Thermal behaviors of bis(aminofurazano)furazan (BAFF) and bis(nitrofurazano)furazan (BNFF) were studied by the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) method with a special hermetic high-pressure crucible and compared to that with a common standard Al crucible. The exothermic decomposition processes of the two compounds were completely revealed.

Organometallic synthesis in the furazan series 1. Functionalization of 3-methyl-4-R-furazans

Bulletin of the Russian Academy of Sciences Division of Chemical Science, 1992
The possibility of synthesizing functionally substituted furazans by alkylation of lithium derivatives of 3-methyl-4-R-furazans was investigated. It was shown that one or both methyl groups of 3,4-dimethylfurazan could be lithiated and alkylated. A series of previously unknown furazan derivatives was obtained.

Furazans and furazan oxides. Part IV. The structures and tautomerism of some unsymmetrically substituted furoxans

Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 2, 1973
The furoxan equilibration reaction [(A)⇌(B)] has been studied for a range of derivatives in the monomethyl series. Activation energies are similar to those determined by other workers for dialkyl and aryl(alkyl)(R = Et or Ph) derivatives, and equilibrium constants are close to unity, except for the ether and amine derivatives, in which the ...
