Reduction of the furoxan ring to the furazan ring in some carbonyl-substituted furoxans
Russian Chemical Bulletin, 1994It was shown that the furoxan ring is efficiently reduced to the furazan ring in carbonylsubstituted furoxans with other functional groups by the action of the SnCl2-HC1-AcOH system.

Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the properties and preparation methods of furoxans and benzofuroxans. The history of its structure is briefly outlined. Many furoxan structures are determined by crystallographic methods, and as a result the dimensions of the heterocyclic ring are known in a wide variety of fused and substituted examples ...

No-Mimetic Furoxans: Arylsulphonylfuroxans and Related Compounds
Pharmacological Research, 1993A new class of methylfuroxans and methylfurazans arylthio, arylsulphinyl and arylsulphonyl substituted, characterized by vasodilating and antiaggregatory properties, is described. Vasodilating activity, tested on rabbit aortic rings percontracted with 1 microM noradrenaline, is enhanced by N-oxidation of the furazan ring and is maximized by increase of

Monocyclic furazans and furoxans
Publisher Summary This chapter covers the chemistry of monocyclic furazans and furoxans. The aim is to present a general picture of more than a century of development in this field. It focuses more on the reactivity of the side-chain functional groups than on the ring synthesis.

Amino‐substituted glyoximes and furoxans
AbstractThe preparation of some N,N′‐substituted diaminoglyoximes from dichloroglyoxime diacetate and primary and secondary amines, respectively is described. The oxidation of the fully substituted diaminoglyoximes leads solely to the corresponding furoxans.
