Kramers-Kronig relations in FWM spectroscopy

Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 1994
The Kramers-Kronig (K-K) relations are verified for the third-order non-linear optical susceptibilities which are described by known expressions, obtained by the density matrix formalism. Possible applications of the K-K relations in non-linear Raman spectroscopy techniques are also discussed. Coupling of the real and imaginary parts of CARS excitation

Bidirectional FWM for Entangled Photon Generation

Frontiers in Optics 2012/Laser Science XXVIII, 2012
We propose a bidirectional FWM scheme to generate entangled photon pairs. Simulation shows a 49% increase in signal power and 33% decrease in pump power required to generate same signal power as in the unidirectional FWM scheme.

FWM wavelength conversion with pump suppression

2006 Optical Fiber Communication Conference and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference, 2006
A novel scheme that significantly improves the performance of FWM wavelength conversion is proposed and demonstrated. The scheme offers substantial pump suppression and OSNR improvement and intended for ultra-fast wavelength routing and packet switching applications.

FWM physical impairments aware GMPLS signaling

2009 SBMO/IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and Optoelectronics Conference (IMOC), 2009
The Label-Switched Path validation in a Generalized MultiProtocol Label Switching on Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing network requires the treatment of the physical impairments related parameters along the provisioned route. In this paper we discuss the Four Wave Mixing constraints and present Resource Reservation Protocol-Traffic Engineering ...

FWM in distributed Raman fiber amplifier

SPIE Proceedings, 2004
We observed the FWM (Four Wave Mixing) phenomenon in broadband distributed Raman fiber amplifier (DRFA). This is one of the nonlinear effects which limits the performance of Raman amplified systems. We analyze the FWM effects for different fiber types. Finally we reduced the FWM influence successfully by choosing proper wavelengths in experiment.

Analytical FWM Expressions for Coherent Optical Transmission Systems

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2017
Simplified, closed-form, mathematical expressions for four wave mixing (FWM) in coherent optical systems are derived. FWM is an important limitation in both coherent OFDM (CO-OFDM) and Nyquist-WDM systems. The effect is also important in networks deploying dispersion shifted fiber and/or based on very narrow channel spacing. In this work, 1) we improve

Robust controllable FD-FWM based Micro-combs

2018 Asia Communications and Photonics Conference (ACP), 2018
The FD-FWM is a proven approach to implement coherent Microcomb generation. Comb repetition rates can be finely controlled in a robust way, while maintaining the coherence during the whole process, whereas full-coherent type-I and type-II combs can be accessible.

Nonlinear Mechanisms for FWM

1985
A great number of experiments on OPC-FWM have been conducted in recent years. The optical scheme was nearly the same in all of them. The first reference wave was transmitted through a medium and then reflected by a mirror, corner reflector or a triple prism to produce a second reference wave.

Optimized FWM Parameters for FTTH Using DWDM Network

2019 International Conference on Computational Intelligence and Knowledge Economy (ICCIKE), 2019
A DWDM System consisting of transmitter, optical span and receiver is designed. The line coding technique NRZ (Non Return To Zero) has been used as the modulation schemes. The variation in the four wave mixing is analyzed with respect to the designed DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) system.

FWM Implementation and Analysis Using MATLAB

2013
The third-order nonlinear process of four-wave mixing (FWM) in silicon-on-insulator (SOI) waveguides has been investigated intensively due to the large third-order susceptibility of silicon. The exploration of nonlinear optical processes in SOI waveguides has achieved a level from where the researchers can move ahead of the proof-of-concept stage and ...
