Time Course of PR of UV-Induced Chromosomal Aberrations and Lethal Damage in G1 Xenopus Cells [PDF]
Synchronous cultures of early G1 cells were exposed to UV and their ability to photoreactivate lethal and aberrational damage was determined as a function of time following UV exposure.

Wireless Concrete Strength Monitoring of Wind Turbine Foundations
Wind turbine foundations are typically cast in place, leaving the concrete to mature under environmental conditions that vary in time and space. As a result, there is uncertainty around the concrete’s initial performance, and this can encourage both ...

Casein kinase II is required for transition of G0/G1, early G1, and G1/S phases of the cell cycle.
Casein kinase II (CKII) is a ubiquitous serine/threonine protein kinase with many cellular functions, including participation in mitogenic signaling by cytoplasmic nuclear translocation (Lorenz, P., Pepperkok, R., Ansorge, W., and Pyerin, W. (1993) J. Biol. Chem. 268, 2733-2739).

3D Soft Hydrogels Induce Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells “Deep” Quiescence
Three‐dimensional soft hydrogels mimicking the bone marrow niche induce deep quiescence in human mesenchymal stem cells. Unlike 2D culture, 3D matrices halt proliferation, regulate cell‐cycle and quiescence markers, and downregulate mTORC1 signaling, preserving stem cell phenotype and therapeutic potential ex vivo.

Petrophysical and geochemical characterization of the late-variscan Santa Eulália Plutonic Complex (Ossa-Morena Zone, Portugal) [PDF]
The Santa Eulália Plutonic Complex (SEPC) is a calc-alkaline granitic body located in the northern part of the Ossa Morena Zone, composed by a medium- to coarse-grained pink granite (G0 group) involving large elongated masses of mafic (gabbroic) to ...

Metamaterial Antennas Enhance MRI of the Eye and Occipital Brain
A radiofrequency antenna platform comprising planar and bend configurations is developed, incorporating structurally integrated epsilon‐negative metamaterial unit cells to enhance MRI. These antennas enable high‐resolution in vivo human MRI of the eye, orbit, and occipital brain. Comprehensive validation, including simulations, phantom experiments, SAR,

Directional Lighting-Based Deep Learning Models for Crack and Spalling Classification
External lighting is essential for autonomous inspections of concrete structures in low-light environments. However, previous studies have primarily relied on uniformly diffused lighting to illuminate images and faced challenges in detecting complex ...
