Antagonistic Regulation of Neurite Morphology through Gq/G11 and G12/G13 [PDF]
The induction of neurite retraction and growth cone collapse via G-protein-coupled receptors is involved in developmental as well as regenerative processes. The role of individual G-protein-mediated signaling processes in the regulation of neurite morphology is still incompletely understood. Using primary neurons from brains lacking Galpha(q)/Galpha(11)

A fatal 3‐chloro‐phencyclidine (3‐Cl‐PCP) intoxication was investigated by analyzing postmortem samples and a pooled human liver microsomes assay. Tentative metabolite identification was performed by liquid chromatography‐quadrupole time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry (LC‐QTOF‐MS). Seven phase I metabolites were identified.

Overlap in signaling between Smoothened and the α subunit of the heterotrimeric G protein G13. [PDF]
The Hedgehog family of morphogens has long been known to utilize, through the 7-transmembrane protein Smoothened (Smo), the heterotrimeric G protein Gi in both canonical and noncanonical forms of signaling.

Regions on Adenylyl Cyclase VII Required for Selective Regulation by the G13 Pathway [PDF]
Regulation of multiple adenylyl cyclases (AC) provides unique inputs to mediate the synthesis of cAMP, a ubiquitous second messenger that controls many aspects of cellular function. On stimulation by G(s), the activities of ACs can be further selectively modulated by other pathways to ensure precise control of intracellular cAMP responses to specific ...

An SSI‐Informed Design for Tuned Mass Dampers With Small‐to‐Large Mass Ratios
ABSTRACT Tuned Mass Dampers (TMDs) are used to mitigate structural vibrations induced by seismic or wind excitation, by tuning the device to the system's dominant resonant frequencies. However, the TMD effectiveness can be undermined by soil‐structure interaction, which can lead to elongation of the vibration periods and to combined translational ...

Sequence‐Encoded Frustration Directs the Formation of Abridged G‐Quadruplex Architectures
Programmable frustration reshapes the free‐energy surface (FES) of guanine‐quadruplex (G4) folding, stabilizing an abridged G4 and a G‐triplex intermediate. ABSTRACT Frustration—competing interactions that cannot be simultaneously optimized—shapes energy landscapes in proteins and soft matter, but has rarely been exploited as a programmable design ...

The Molecular Heterogeneity of NRAS Variants in Thyroid Nodules
Abstract Objective NRAS variants are the most common mutations in thyroid nodules with (B)ethesda III/IV cytology. This study aims to characterize co‐occurring variants, molecular signatures, and hallmarks of cancer pathways in nodules with NRAS variants. Study Design Retrospective database analysis.

Anaphylactic shock depends on endothelial Gq/G11 [PDF]
Anaphylactic shock is a severe allergic reaction involving multiple organs including the bronchial and cardiovascular system. Most anaphylactic mediators, like platelet-activating factor (PAF), histamine, and others, act through G protein – coupled ...
