Improving enzymatic digestibility of wheat straw pretreated by a cellulase-free xylanase-secreting Pseudomonas boreopolis G22 with simultaneous production of bioflocculants

open access: yesBiotechnology for Biofuels, 2018
Background Xylan removal by bacterial pretreatments has been confirmed to increase the digestibility of biomass. Here, an effective xylan removal technique has been developed to enhance the digestibility of wheat straw and simultaneously produce ...

Adaptability and Stability Analyses of Root Yield and Micronutrient Concentrations in Sweetpotato (<i>Ipomoea batatas</i> [L.] Lam.) Genotypes. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Environ Interact
ABSTRACT High yielding and micronutrient dense sweetpotato cultivars could contribute to alleviating micronutrient deficiency, which is a prevalent problem in developing countries. Developing these improved cultivars involves selection across diverse environments, which requires an understanding of genotype × environment interaction (GEI).

Transient Transfection of Rolling-Circle Amplified DNA in Biomanufacturing-Relevant Mammalian Cell Lines: A Comparison of Transfection Conditions for Optimal Protein Expression. [PDF]

open access: yesBiotechnol Appl Biochem
ABSTRACT Rolling‐circle amplification (RCA) is a completely synthetic and rapid mechanism for scaling‐up bulk DNA that eliminates requirements for large‐scale bacterial fermentation. Several reports have described the surprising ability of large unprocessed (hyperbranched) rolling circle‐amplified DNA (RCA DNA) to effectively transfect cultured cells ...

Radiometric Constraints on the Timing, Tempo, and Effects of Large Igneous Province Emplacement

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 27-82., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein variants have differential RNA chaperone activity. [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS J
The SARS‐CoV‐2 nucleocapsid (N) protein is not only the specific viral RNA packaging protein, but also acts as an RNA chaperone, facilitating RNA folding. We show that it facilitates RNA annealing through its RBD–IDR2–CTD region, identifying it as a functional RNA chaperone.

Filamentary Flows and Clump-fed High-mass Star Formation in G22 [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the International Astronomical Union, 2017
AbstractG22 is a hub-filament system composed of four supercritical filaments. Velocity gradients are detected along three filaments. A total mass infall rate of 700 M⊙ Myr−1 would double the hub mass in about three free-fall times. The most massive clump C1 would be in global collapse with an infall velocity of 0.26 km s−1 and a mass infall rate of 5 ×

Purification, characterization and cloning of a chitinase from Stenotrophomonas rhizophila G22 [PDF]

open access: yes3 Biotech, 2019
In the presented research the extracellular chitinase of Stenotrophomonas rhizophila G22 was biochemically and molecularly characterized. The studied enzyme was purified from a 72-h bacterial culture about 14 times, with a recovery of 63%. The molecular weight of the purified protein was estimated at 50 kDa by SDS-PAGE.
