Assessment of stability performance and G X E interaction for yield and its attributing characters in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding
The present study was undertaken to identify the stable genotypes for grain yield and yields related components with desirable performance under different environmental conditions taking forty wheat genotypes and were evaluated for two years (2017-19) with different dates of sowing.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Genotype x environment interaction studies with cassava

open access: yes, 2018
Multilocational trials were conducted in several agroecological zones in West Africa to assess the magnitude of genotype x environment (G x E) interaction and to identify stable varieties which could be used in breeding programs in the region.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Inbreeding depression in castor bean (Ricinus communis L.) progenies

open access: yesCrop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology, 2012
The purpose of this study was to investigate inbreeding depression (DE) in castor bean. From a population derived from the Guarani cultivar, 60 mother plants were sampled.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.

Neutral and ionic dopants in helium clusters: interaction forces for the Li-2(a(3)Sigma(+)(u))-He and Li-2(+)(X-2 Sigma(+)(g))-He complexes

open access: yes, 2005
The potential energy surface (PES) describing the interactions between Li-2((1)Sigma(u)(+)) and He-4 and an extensive study of the energies and str uctures of a set of small clusters, Li-2(He)(n), were reported in a previous series of publications.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Genotype x environment interaction in QTL analysis of an intervarietal almond cross by means of genetic markers

open access: yes, 1994
Besides QTL location and the estimation of gene effects, QTL analysis based on genetic markers could be used to comprehensively investigate quantitative trait-related phenomena such as pleiotropy, gene interactions, heterosis, and genotype-by-environment
