Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Genotype x environment interaction for forage yield and its components in oats (Avena sativa L.)

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2017
The present investigation was carried out to study stability performance over six environments for forage yield and its components in 12 genetically diverse genotypes of oats using a randomized complete block design.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Estimation of g x e interactions in exotic germplasm of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum L.)

open access: yesADVANCE RESEARCH JOURNAL OF CROP IMPROVEMENT, 2015
Twenty seven accessions of pearl millet germplasm of African origin along with check HHB 67 were evaluated in eight environments for eight quantitative traits and data were subjected to regression analysis and also analysed to detect the presence of crossover and non-crossover interactions.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Genetic analysis on genotype x environment interaction for seed yield in greengram (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek)

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2018
Nineteen cultures of greengram including two check varieties viz. CO 8 and VBN (Gg) 3 were evaluated for four seasons at NPRC, Vamban. The data on seed yield were subjected to genotype x environment interaction analysis to identify high yielding stable ...

Estimation of Genotype × Environment interaction in soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) crosses for grain yield and its component traits under different sowing dates

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2023
The study was conducted at AICRP on Soybean, Zonal Agricultural Research Station, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru, to detect and quantify the stable performing genotypes by temporal environment interaction. Fifty-eight genetically stable soybean lines selected from

A Review of Parametric and AMMI Models for Genotype x Environment (G x E) Interaction in Mulberry

open access: yesArchives of Current Research International
Mulberry (Morus spp.) is a key perennial crop cultivated primarily for its leaves, which serve as the sole food for silkworms. The productivity of mulberry varies widely across different agro-climatic environments due to Genotype x Environment (G x E) interactions, posing a challenge for stable varietal development.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

The SLiMDisc server: short, linear motif discovery in proteins

open access: yes, 2007
Short, linear motifs (SLiMs) play a critical role in many biological processes, particularly in protein-protein interactions. Overrepresentation of convergent occurrences of motifs in proteins with a common attribute (such as similar subcellular location
