Stability of yield and related traits in the land races of rabi sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench)

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2016
Forty five rabi sorghum land races were evaluated along with three checks M35-1, CSV 22R and Phule Chitra for three years (2011-2013) at ARS, Tandur to identify promising and stable donors for yield and related traits to be used in crossing programmes ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

G XE Interaction and Ammi Biplot analysis of Harvest Index and test Grain weight in direct seeded Basmati Rice

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2017
Harvest index (HI) is directly proportional to grain yield and inversely to total biological yield. The HI of direct-seeded rice is often lower than that of transplanted crops. Cultivars able to maintain a high HI are preferred for direct seeding. Aimed

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Characterization of linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) germplasm for genetic diversity and G x E interaction

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding
A comprehensive evaluation of 60 linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) genotypes was conducted across two contrasting agro-ecological locations—Ludhiana and Gurdaspur—using 10 key agro-morphological traits to assess genetic variability, heritability, genetic ...

Modelling strategies to improve selection for feed efficiency in the presence of G x E interactions

open access: yes, 2022
L’amélioration de l’efficacité alimentaire repose sur l’enregistrement de performances en élevages de sélection pour une fraction des candidats à la sélection. Ces animaux sont parents ou grands-parents des porcs croisés élevés dans les fermes de production.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Phenotypic stability for fruit yield and its components in rainy season brinjal (Solanum melongena L.)of Chhattisgarh plains [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2011
Seven open pollinated genotypes of long brinjal were evaluated in three environments under rainy season and irrigated situationsfor Chhattisgarh plains. Data analyzed for stability parameters and highly significant mean squares were observed forgenotypes,

Analysis of Pearl Millet's G x E Interaction with the Proposed New Index

open access: yesJournal of Scientific Research and Reports
Developing cultivars that are stable in a variety of conditions has been a problem for plant breeders. The environment can have an impact on a cultivar's phenotypic performance, or different environments can have different effects on different cultivars. Variance resulting from a combination of an individual's genetic composition and the environment in

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
