Structure‐Function Integration in 2D Hybrid Perovskite for Fast Neutron and Gamma Ray Discrimination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using an in situ seed‐assisted cooling method, large (28 × 7 × 3 mm3) (GABA)2PbBr4 single crystals are grown, featuring hydrogen‐rich organic layers and a dense PbBr4 framework. This architecture enables efficient γ‐ray absorption, fast‐neutron sensitivity, and clear n/γ pulse‐shape discrimination (FOM up to 1.74), highlighting its potential as a ...

Fast detection of extrasynaptic GABA with a whole-cell sniffer

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2014
Gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA) is the main inhibitory transmitter of the brain. It operates by binding to specific receptors located both inside and outside synapses.

Differential roles of EA‐TRAPed cells in the anterior cingulate cortex across various intervention times in inflammatory pain

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
The cumulative effect of EA analgesia is partially attributed to the activation of EA‐TRAPed cells in ACC. Multiple EA sessions and single EA sessions activated different neuronal populations in the ACC. The enhanced analgesic effect of multiple EA sessions may be attributed to an increase in the proportion of GABAergic neurons within the ACC. Abstract

The involvement of GABA-rho receptors in regulating ethanol-induced elevation of dopamine, glycine and taurine within the nucleus accumbens of Wistar rats

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology
IntroductionAlcohol use disorder (AUD) causes significant morbidity and mortality globally. Ethanol’s rewarding and reinforcing effects are attributed to activation of the mesolimbic dopamine system, increasing accumbal dopamine release. While activation

Emerging neurotrophic role of GABAB receptors in neuronal circuit development

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2013
The proper development of highly organized structures in the central nervous system is a complex process during which key events – neurogenesis, migration, growth, differentiation and synaptogenesis – have to take place in an appropriate manner to create

Back Again to the Future: A New Era for Cerebroprotection

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
Cerebroprotection is a fresh framework for designing neurological therapy that targets glia and vascular cells, in addition to neurons. In the future, successful cerebroprotection will involve targeting all elements of the neurovascular unit. Preclinical trials must include functional outcomes, as well as lesion morphometry.

Hydroxycarboxylic Acid Receptor 2 Mediates β‐hydroxybutyrate's Antiseizure Effect in Mice

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, EarlyView.
A Objective The ketogenic diet, a high‐fat, low‐carbohydrate regimen, is often used to treat drug‐resistant seizures and is being studied for Alzheimer's disease and other neuropsychiatric disorders. However, its mechanism of action remains unclear. β‐hydroxybutyrate, a primary circulating ketone body produced by the ketogenic diet, may mediate its ...
