Neurobiological correlates of obsessive‐compulsive disorder (OCD): A narrative review

open access: yesIbrain, EarlyView.
Obsessive‐compulsive disorder (OCD) is a common and disabling, as well as underdiagnosed, neuropsychiatric condition characterized by involuntary and unwanted obsessions and/or compulsions often accompanied by states of severe anxiety, distress and shame, as well as other comorbid disorders. Despite the extensive literature available to date, only some

Weizmannia coagulans XY2 Mitigates Copper Neurotoxicity via Gut–Brain Axis Modulation of Tryptophan Metabolism and Oxidative‐Inflammatory Crosstalk

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Copper interferes with tryptophan metabolism and 5‐HT levels by modulating intestinal flora. Intestinal barrier breakdown and inflammatory response trigger nerve damage under copper exposure. W. coagulans XY2 alleviates copper‐induced neurotoxicity by targeting a multi‐dimensional “tryptophan metabolism‐antioxidant defense‐gut‐brain axis” network.

Managing Dystonia in Partington Syndrome

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Bilateral focal hand dystonia is an almost pathognomonic sign of Partington syndrome, frequently accompanied by intellectual disability and oromotor dyspraxia. However, a few studies have focused on the treatment of this focal dystonia, making patient management uncertain.

MORPHOLOGICAL AND SYNAPTIC CHANGES OF THE CORTICAL GABAERGIC INHIBITORY SYSTEM IN SPINAL MUSCULAR ATROPHY

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Histochemistry
Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a neuromuscular disease due to the lack of Survival Motor Neuron (SMN) protein, characterized by lower motor neuron (MN) degeneration and muscle atrophy.

Convergence Deficits in Myoclonus‐Dystonia Point to Cerebellar Impairment

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Myoclonus‐dystonia (M‐D) is a monogenic movement disorder, with proposed cerebellar dysfunction. Vergence eye movement deficits, characteristics of degenerative cerebellar disease, have not been studied in M‐D. Cerebellar transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS) is considered a potential therapeutic approach.
