Gadolinium-DTPA enhanced MR imaging of intramuscular abscesses
Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1987Sterile, chemical and bacterial abscesses were induced in the paraspinal muscles of 16 rats before obtaining magnetic resonance (MR) images using a 0.35-T resistive system. Abscess intensity, T1 and T2 values were recorded before and after the intravenous administration of Gd-DTPA (0.2 mmol/kg).

Comparison of the biodistribution of manganese-54 DTPA and gadolinium-153 DTPA in dogs.
Journal of nuclear medicine : official publication, Society of Nuclear Medicine, 1987The biodistribution of [54Mn]DTPA and [153Gd]DTPA dimeglumine were investigated and compared following i.v. administration to fasting anesthetized dogs. Unlike most previously reported metal ion-DTPA complexes, [54Mn]DTPA showed high uptakes in several organs including the liver, bile, pancreas, bowel, and kidney.

Journal of nuclear medicine : official publication, Society of Nuclear Medicine, 1988Twenty-three mature Sprague-Dawley male and female rats were simultaneously injected with trace quantities of [153Gd]DTPA and [99mTc]DTPA and 0.5 mmol/kg of nonradioactive gadolinium DTPA. Rats were killed at 1 min, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, and 30 min after the intracardiac bolus injection.
