Magnetic resonance ventriculography with gadolinium DTPA: report of two cases

open access: yesNeuroradiology, 1997
We report intrathecal use of gadolinium DTPA for MRI of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). In two patients with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, we injected 0.01 mmol gadolinium DTPA into the lateral ventricle via an Ommaya device.

Elimination of gadolinium–DTPA by peritoneal dialysis

Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation, 1995
Magnetic resonance urography (MRU) after i.v. injection of gadolinium-DTPA (0.1 mmol/kg bodyweight) was performed in a patient with transplant dysfunction after renal allograft transplantation. Renal replacement therapy was accomplished by means of peritoneal dialysis.

Gadolinium-DTPA-enhanced MRI of intraocular tumors

Magnetic Resonance Imaging, 1990
The value of gadolinium-enhanced MRI in 30 patients with intraocular lesions has been evaluated. Seventeen patients had a uveal melanoma, two a ciliary body melanoma, three had uveal metastases, one lymphoma, four had senile macula degenerations, and three uveal nevi.

Comparative Pharmacokinetics of Gadolinium DTPA and Gadolinium Chloride

Investigative Radiology, 1988
An intravenous injection of 153Gd-labeled gadolinium-DTPA or gadolinium chloride was given to 60 rats, which were killed either 15, 40, 120, 300, 900, or 3600 seconds later. Tissue concentrations of gadolinium in the blood, liver, spleen, stomach, pancreas, renal cortex, renal medulla, lungs, heart, adrenals, gluteal muscle, fat, skin, thymus, brain ...

Renal Tolerance of Gadolinium-DOTA and Gadolinium-DTPA in Rats

Investigative Radiology, 1994
Although gadolinium chelates are mainly eliminated by the kidney, there is limited information about their effects. The renal tolerance of these compounds on renal function in an in vivo rat model are evaluated.A combination of renal ischemia and intrarenal iodinated contrast agent infusion (diatrizoate) led to a reproducible and reversible model of ...

Biodistribution and Clearance of Liposomal Gadolinium-DTPA

INVESTIGATIVE RADIOLOGY, 1990
Gadolinium-DTPA (Gd-DTPA) liposomes have been studied previously as liver contrast agents and have been shown to improve the detection of hepatic metastases in rats. We synthesized 100-nm and 50-nm liposomes that encapsulated Gd-DTPA and did biodistribution and clearance studies in rats. Parallel magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies were also done.

Magnetic resonance epidurography with gadolinium-DTPA

European Radiology, 1998
The aim of this study was to evaluate and describe MRI epidurography as a new imaging tool. Five volunteers and one patient were investigated with MR epidurography after injection of 20 ml Gd-DPTA solution (1:250/1 ml Gd-DPTA/250 ml normal saline). Magnetic resonance epidurography is possible.

Detailed Toxicity Studies of Liposomal Gadolinium-DTPA

Investigative Radiology, 1991
Acute, subacute, and delayed toxicity testing was assessed in mice for liposomal gadolinium-DTPA (Gd-DTPA), blank liposomes, and nonliposomal Gd-DTPA. In the subacute experiments mice were injected intravenously (IV) with 0.3 mmol/kg Gd-DTPA per day for 30 days in the form of either free Gd-DTPA, liposomal Gd-DTPA, or an equivalent amount of lipid in ...
