Taste Responses and Ingestive Behaviors to Ingredients of Fermented Milk in Mice

open access: yesFoods, 2023
Fermented milk is consumed worldwide because of its nutritious and healthful qualities. Although it is somewhat sour, causing some to dislike it, few studies have examined taste aspects of its ingredients.

Synergistic antiaging effects of jujube polysaccharide and flavonoid in D-Galactose-Induced aging mice

open access: yes, 2022
In this study, the synergistic effects of jujube polysaccharide (JP) and flavonoid (JF) on aging mice were investigated. Sub-acutely aging mouse models were established using D-galactose.

Galactose and cataract

open access: yesSurvey of Ophthalmology, 1988
Galactosemia is a disorder caused by a deficiency of any one of three possible enzymes involved in the metabolism of galactose: galactokinase, transferase or epimerase. Any single deficient enzyme can result in cataract through the accumulation of galactitol in the lens.

Galactose-α-1,3-galactose syndrome: an Italian survey [PDF]

open access: yesEuropean Annals of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 2017
Background. The term of α-Gal syndrome, which includes the delayed allergy to red meat and the allergic reactions following the administration of cetuximab, is associated to the presence of specific IgE to α-Gal. In Italy, only anecdotal cases were reported so far.

Structural Studies of Catalysis and Processing in Galactose [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The fungal copper containing enzyme galactose oxidase is one of the earliest examples of a protein derived radical cofactor. A covalent bond, formed between the active site cysteine and the Cc of a tyrosine act as a site for radical formation, allowing ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

4-Amino-5-(4-bromobenzoyl)-3-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)-2-[(2′,3′,4′,6′-tetra-O-acetyl-β-d-galactopyranosyl)sulfanyl]thiophene

open access: yesIUCrData, 2022
In the title compound, C32H29BrN2O10S3, the benzothiazole and thiophene ring systems subtend an interplanar angle of 7.43 (12)°. The NH2 group forms intramolecular hydrogen bonds to Nthiazole and Ocarbonyl. The Sgalactose—Cthiophene bond is short [1.759 (

Table_1_Green Tea Polyphenols Upregulate the Nrf2 Signaling Pathway and Suppress Oxidative Stress and Inflammation Markers in D-Galactose-Induced Liver Aging in Mice.XLS

open access: yes, 2022
The beneficial effects of green tea polyphenols (GTPs) on D-galactose (D-Gal)-induced liver aging in male Kunming mice were investigated. For this purpose, 40 adult male Kunming mice were divided into four groups.

Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs
