ANZ Journal of Surgery, Volume 92, Issue 12, Page 3198-3203, December 2022., 2022 CT‐assessed ratio of L3 vertebral body cross‐sectional area to total psoas muscle cross‐sectional area (L3:PM) is a simple yet significant predictor of 30‐, 90‐ and 365‐day mortality in emergency laparotomy patients. This study is the first to describe the association in an Australian population.
