Touch current suppression for semiconductor-based galvanic isolation
2016 IEEE 4th Workshop on Wide Bandgap Power Devices and Applications (WiPDA), 2016This paper presents the touch current (TC) suppression for the semiconductor-based galvanic isolation (SGI) solution. The solution achieves galvanic isolation by utilizing semiconductor switches to deliver differential-mode (DM) power during their ON states, while sustaining common-mode (CM) isolation voltage and blocking CM leakage current during ...

Semiconductor-based galvanic isolation
2015 IEEE 3rd Workshop on Wide Bandgap Power Devices and Applications (WiPDA), 2015This paper presents the study on the semiconductor-based galvanic isolation. This solution delivers the differential-mode (DM) power via semiconductor power switches during their on states, while sustaining the common-mode (CM) voltage and blocking the CM leakage current with those switches during their off states.

Galvanically isolated SpaceWire
2014 International SpaceWire Conference (SpaceWire), 2014The physical signaling layer for SpaceWire is specified in ECSS-E-ST-50-12C as LVDS per ANSI/TIA/EIA-644. LVDS is a current mode, differential interface that offers several benefits over other types of physical interfaces particularly in the areas of noise rejection, electromagnetic noise generation, and power supply decoupling.

Converter with galvanic isolation for supercapacitor charging
2016 19th International Symposium on Electrical Apparatus and Technologies (SIELA), 2016The following paperwork presents results from examination of a resonant converter with voltage limitation over the commutating capacitor. The converter is used for charging of energy storage elements — supercapacitors or batteries. Computer simulations are carried out by the means of LTspice.

Cmos microsystem for ac current measurement with galvanic isolation
IEEE Sensors Journal, 2003In this paper, we present an integrated ac current sensor based on sensitivity-optimized horizontal Hall effect devices and a differential readout chain. This microsystem has been designed for 5-A rms nominal ac current measurement with 5-kV galvanic isolation and 0.5% accuracy after calibration from 250 mA to 5 A, over 1.5-kHz bandwidth, which allows ...

Session 25 overview: GaN drivers and galvanic isolators
2017 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), 2017Gallium-Nitride (GaN) power devices have garnered a lot of attention for their reduced switching losses leading to small-form-factor high-frequency switching converters. However, issues related to reliable GaN gate driving, signal and power isolation with high common-mode immunity, and reduced electromagnetic interference (EMI) need special attention ...

Giant magnetoresistive based galvanically isolated voltage measurement
2014 IEEE International Workshop on Applied Measurements for Power Systems Proceedings (AMPS), 2014Nowadays direct current (DC) is much more widely used than a decade ago. Not only in the well-known high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission but also as DC powered marine system, DC data center and DC fast charging system for electric vehicles. DC is now challenging the alternative current (AC) in a large variety of fast growing markets. However
