Low cost galvanic isolation amplifier

International Journal of Electronics, 1986
A simple circuit is described in which a dual opto-isolator integrated circuit is used as the basis of a circuit to give galvanic isolation for analogue signals. The isolation voltage obtained is ± 1500 V. The circuit which is designed using low cost components gives a linearity of better than 1%.

A Capacitive Galvanically Isolated Full-Bridge Converter

IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification
This paper proposes a transformerless, capacitively isolated converter based on a full-bridge topology with phase shift control. Compared to existing capacitively isolated converters, the proposed design offers the advantage of zero mean voltage across the isolating capacitors, thereby reducing voltage stress.

Highly Integrated Galvanically Isolated Systems for Data/Power Transfer

2019 26th IEEE International Conference on Electronics, Circuits and Systems (ICECS), 2019
This focus paper gives a panorama of galvanically isolated power/data transfer systems. It starts from a review of state-of-the-art isolation technologies and describes most advanced system architectures. Among these, approaches capable of reducing the number of isolated links, while preserving power and data functionalities will be presented.

Accurate voltage-to-frequency sensor with galvanic isolation and bandwidth of 375kHz

2020 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2020
High-bandwidth low-cost MV voltage sensors with appropriate isolation are required in MV power electronic converters for utility and industrial applications. It is especially critical in low-inertia converters (reduced passives) due to the existence of fast dynamics with reduced storage elements (dc-link, filters etc.).

Galvanically isolated driver using an integrated power- and signal-transformer

2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015
Galvanically isolated drivers offer a good protection of the control part against EMI caused by the switching transients of the high power electronic devices. The proposed concepts aims to reduce the component count and building height by using one integrated magnetic core for the power and signal transformer.

Giant-Magnetoresistance-Based Galvanically Isolated Voltage and Current Measurements

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2015
Nowadays, dc current is much more widely used than a decade ago, not only in the well-known high-voltage dc transmission but also as dc-powered marine systems, dc data centers, and dc fast charging systems for electric vehicles. However, galvanically isolated dc voltage or current sensors are, in terms of accuracy, noise level, or dimensions, still far

Performance Evaluation of CMUT-Based Ultrasonic Transformers for Galvanic Isolation

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control, 2018
This paper presents the development of a novel acoustic transformer with high galvanic isolation dedicated to power switch triggering. The transformer is based on two capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducers layered on each side of a silicon substrate; one is the primary circuit, and the other is the secondary circuit.

Bidirectional softly switched dc-to-dc converter with galvanic isolation

2015 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology (ICIT), 2015
Bidirectional power flow in energy storage facilities is common and required. Energy supply from energy storages and energy imbursement back to the storages and preferably at high-efficiency are basic operations for these kinds of equipment. Since the boom growth on uninterruptable power supplies for critical loads and electric vehicles, storages ...

cMUT technology applied to galvanic isolation: Theory and experiments

2015 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS), 2015
This study relies on double-sided chips where capacitive Micromachined Ultrasonic Transducers (cMUT) are manufactured on both sides of a silicon substrate in order to perform galvanic isolation between two electrical circuits. The operating principle is based on the propagation of acoustic waves from one transducer to the other, providing a high level ...
