Pikku Kakkonen Game Jam - Making Games for and with Children

open access: yesProceedings of the 8th International Conference on Game Jams, Hackathons and Game Creation Events
In this paper, we are reflecting on the experiences and the design of a game jam event that focused on creating games for kids, as well as involving children as co-creators. Pikku Kakkonen Game Jam was run at Tampere (Finland) in 2018 as a collaboration between Finnish Game Jam organization and Finnish national broadcasting company YLE.

Toward Perception‐Native Electronic Skin: Bio‐Inspired In‐/Near‐Sensor and Neuromorphic Computing for Humanoid Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Dense tactile streams from across the humanoid body converge on collide in a central wiring and data bottleneck. By relocating computation closer to and then into the skin itself, near‐ and in‐sensor architectures, together with neuromorphic computing, chart a path toward perception‐native electronic skin, in which the conversion of stimulus into ...

Distribution Method of Jamming Power to Radar Net Base on Two-person Zero-sum Game

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2016
:In order to jam overall radar net best, to address problem that the radar jammer power is allocated optimally to all radars in radar net, the two-person zero-sum game theory (TPZS) is proposed to distribute jamming power to radars.

In‐House Manufacturing of 3D ECM Culture Chips via Vacuum Thermoforming for Enhanced Imaging Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Desktop vacuum thermoforming enables rapid, low‐cost fabrication of 96‐channel polystyrene culture chips with very thin imaging interfaces. The resulting platform supports cell lines, primary cells, and patient‐derived organoids, and enables high‐resolution confocal microscopy and single‐cell visualization, providing an accessible approach for advanced

Synergistic Interfacial Regulation by Nano‐TiO2 and Carboxylated Cellulose Nanofibers for Multiscale Surface Stabilization of Cementitious Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Nano‐TiO2 and carboxylated cellulose nanofibers jointly regulate hydration‐product distribution in cementitious composites. Improved microstructural continuity and refined pore structure accompany enhanced strength and surface stability without a substantial increase in overall hydration.

Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.

Piezoresistivity Enhancement by Graphite Flake Alignment in Thin Composite Films for Dielectric Elastomer Switches

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article presents dielectric elastomer switch (DES) materials, based on composite thin films. Alignment of graphite flakes due to their physical confinement within the thin films lead to much stronger piezoresistive responses than bulk composites, while their durability exceeds that of conventional liquid‐based DES materials.

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...
