Exploring Physically Motivated Models to Fit Gamma-Ray Burst Spectra
We explore fitting gamma-ray burst (GRB) spectra with three physically motivated models, and thus revisit the viability of synchrotron radiation as the primary source of GRB prompt emission. We pick a sample of 100 bright GRBs observed by the Fermi Gamma-

Neutrino and cosmic-ray emission from multiple internal shocks in gamma-ray bursts [PDF]
Gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) are short-lived, luminous explosions at cosmological distances, thought to originate from relativistic jets launched at the deaths of massive stars.

A new strategy for constructing smart gel‐based MN patches is developed to overcome the insufficient drug delivery of eye drops to the lacrimal gland. The gel‐based MN patches achieved long‐acting drug release in a ROS‐responsive manner, and separable base in a temperature‐responsive manner.

[Ag(μ‐en)][ReO4]: An Intermediate during Preparation of the Ethylene Epoxidation Catalyst
Abstract Preparation of a catalyst for the ethylene oxide production requires impregnation of a porous corundum support with an aqueous silver ethylene diamine oxalate complex solution, to which among others NH4[ReO4] is added. Here we report on [Ag(μ‐en)][ReO4] that precipitates from such a mixture.

The X-ray Bursts from the Magnetar Candidate 1E 2259+586 [PDF]
We present a statistical analysis of the X-ray bursts observed from the 2002 June 18 outburst of the Anomalous X-ray Pulsar (AXP) 1E 2259+586, observed with the Proportional Counter Array aboard the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer. We show that the properties of these bursts are similar to those of Soft Gamma-Repeaters (SGRs). The similarities we find are:

X-ray Reflection and An Exceptionally Long Thermonuclear Helium Burst from IGR J17062-6143 [PDF]
Thermonuclear X-ray bursts from accreting neutron stars power brief but strong irradiation of their surroundings, providing a unique way to study accretion physics. We analyze MAXI/GSC and Swift/XRT spectra of a day-long flash observed from IGR J17062-6143 in 2015.

Here gelatinase‐responsive methoxypolyethyleneglycol–PVGLIG–polycaprolactone (mPEG–PVGLIG–PCL) nanoparticles’ loading verteporfin (N@VP) is developed, enhancing radiotherapy via X‐ray‐triggered singlet oxygen generation. Combined with 2 Gy (gray, a radiation dose unit) irradiation, N@VP achieves antitumor efficacy comparable to 8 Gy, and also promotes ...
