Postnatal Development of Rat Hippocampal Gamma Rhythm In Vivo

open access: yes, 2002
Network oscillations in the gamma-frequency band (20–100 Hz) may have a central role in the timing and coordination of neural activity in the adult brain, yet their appearance in the course of development has remained unexplored.

Modeling dopaminergic modulation of clustered gamma rhythms

open access: yes, 2020
International audienceGamma rhythm (20–100Hz) plays a key role in numerous cognitive tasks: working memory, sensory processing and in routing of information across neural circuits. Incomparison with lower frequency oscillations in the brain, gamma-rhythm

Can epilepsy be predicted after the first febrile seizure? Insights from machine learning of postictal EEG

open access: yesEpileptic Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Febrile seizures (FS) are the most common seizures in childhood, yet identifying children at risk of developing epilepsy after the first FS remains challenging. We aimed to evaluate the prognostic potential of machine learning (ML) algorithms applied to post‐febrile seizure electroencephalography (EEG) recordings.

Respiration and brain neural dynamics associated with interval timing during odor fear learning in rats

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
In fear conditioning, where a conditioned stimulus predicts the arrival of an aversive stimulus, the animal encodes the time interval between the two stimuli.

A Microsaccadic Rhythm Modulates Gamma-Band Synchronization and Behavior

open access: yes, 2009
Rhythms occur both in neuronal activity and in behavior. Behavioral rhythms abound at frequencies at or below 10 Hz. Neuronal rhythms cover a very wide frequency range, and the phase of neuronal low-frequency rhythms often rhythmically modulates the ...

Artificial intelligence for adaptive neuromodulation in drug‐resistant epilepsy

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) affects nearly one third of people with epilepsy and is associated with substantial cognitive, psychiatric, and mortality burdens. For patients who are not candidates for resection or laser interstitial thermal therapy, neuromodulation therapies such as vagus nerve stimulation, deep brain stimulation, and ...

Oszillatorische Gamma-Band-Aktivität bei der Verarbeitung auditorischer Reize im Kurzzeitgedächtnis im MEG

open access: yes, 2010
Recent studies have suggested an important role of cortical gamma oscillatory activity (30-100 Hz) as a correlate of encoding, maintaining and retrieving auditory, visual or tactile information in and from memory.

Synchronization hubs may arise from strong rhythmic inhibition during gamma oscillations in primary visual cortex : poster presentation from Twentieth Annual Computational Neuroscience Meeting: CNS*2011, Stockholm, Sweden, 23 - 28 July 2011 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Poster presentation from Twentieth Annual Computational Neuroscience Meeting: CNS*2011 Stockholm, Sweden. 23-28 July 2011. Parallel multiunit recordings from V1 in anesthetized cat were collected during the presentation of random sequences of drifting ...

Glymphatic dysfunction couples with cortical excitation–inhibition imbalance in epilepsy: Evidence from Rasmussen encephalitis

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Cong Fu et al. demonstrate that glymphatic system dysfunction is linked to enhanced inhibitory cortical activity using diffusion MRI and EEG. These findings highlight a mechanistic link between perivascular fluid dynamics and neuronal activity, suggesting a role for glymphatic function in maintaining cortical stability in epilepsy.

Fast-gamma rhythm clusters.

open access: yes, 2015
Changes in fast-gamma frequency band power spectrum over the 2 hours since ayahuasca ingestion. A) F statistics in the entire scalp revealed four significant clusters at right-frontal (Fp2, AF4, F2 and F6, p = 0.0016, highlighted by white +), right ...
