Ganoderma, also referred to as Lingzhi in Chinese, is the dried fruiting body of both (Leyss. Ex Fr.) Karst (Chizhi) and G. Zhao, Xu et Zhang (Zizhi) belonging to the family of Polyporaceae. Abstract Three new lanostanoid triterpenes, isolated from the mycelia of the fungus Ganoderma lucidum , were determined to be 3β-hydroxy-15α-acetoxy-lanosta-7,9(11),24-trien-26-oic acid, 3β-acctoxy-15α-hydroxy-lanosta-7,9(11),24-trien-26-oic acid and 3-oxo-15α-acetoxy-lanosta-7,9(11),24-trien-26-oic acid by spectroscopic and chemical methods.
