Walk or wait?: An empirical analysis of street crossing decisions [PDF]
We examine the behaviour of pedestrians wishing to cross a stream of trasffic at signalized intersections. We model each padestrian as making a desccrete crossing choice by comparing the gaps between vehicles in traffic to an individual-specific ...

The study of gap acceptance at roundabouts / Norhasyimah Shafie [PDF]
This research is to study the gap acceptance at roundabouts and data collection using video recording. The scope of the research is only unsignalized conventional roundabout and gap acceptance on each vehicle.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Modeling Permissive Left-Turn Gap Acceptance Behavior at Signalized Intersections
The research presented in this thesis, studies driver gap acceptance behavior for permissive left turn movements at signalized intersections. The thesis attempts to model the gap acceptance behavior using three different approaches, a deterministic ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Public acceptance is a key prerequisite for renewable energy deployment, yet evidence from post-socialist, energy import-dependent countries remains limited, and acceptance is often treated as a single construct.

Effect of Restricted Sight on Right-Turn Driver Behavior with Pedestrians at Signalized Intersection
When the right-turn vehicles share the same phase with pedestrians on divided lanes at intersection, the stopped buses or medium-size vehicles that closed to the right-turn vehicles would block the view of drivers and pedestrians from the far-side of ...

Capacity of Freeway Merge Areas with Different On-Ramp Traffic Flow
This paper is aimed at investigating the influence of different types of traffic flows on the capacity of freeway merge areas. Based on the classical gap-acceptance model, two calculating models were established specifically considering randomly arriving

Gap acceptance at unsignalised intersections
Review the methods for estimating gap acceptance and to estimate the critical gap at unsignalised T- intersections in Singapore, focusing on three movements: left turn from the minor road, right turn from the minor road and right turn from the major road,
