Eestimating gap acceptance parameters at roundabout [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The present work focuses on gap acceptance methodology. Its main parameters are critical gap and follow up time. The goal of this work is to estimate those two parameters.

α‐Synuclein aggregation landscape from phase separation to neurotoxic intermediates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Alpha‐synuclein aggregation in Parkinson's disease involves a complex landscape of transient intermediates, including oligomers, fibrils and liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS). A view is emerging in which LLPS maturation into solid‐like condensates may contribute to the formation of neurotoxic species.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Gap acceptance behavior of drivers at uncontrolled T-intersections under mixed traffic conditions

open access: yesJournal of Modern Transportation, 2017
Explicit traffic control measures are absent in uncontrolled intersections which make them susceptible to frequent conflicts and resulting collisions between vehicles.

Mixed‐class J‐domain protein scaffolds promote expanded aggregate handling and multivalent Hsp70 engagement during functional disaggregase assembly

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Food Safety Standards Requirement Setting and GAP Audit Program Acceptance Decision-making by U.S. Buyers

open access: yesJournal of Food Protection
The US Department of Agriculture Agricultural Marketing Service (USDA AMS) developed suites of voluntary fee-for-service Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) audit verification programs, which, for reasons not well understood, are underwhelmingly accepted ...

Gap Acceptance for Yangon Urban and Suburban Intersections

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract Gap acceptance plays an important role in intersection design and signal warrant. This study investigates gap acceptance of drivers in Yangon, Myanmar. Three T-intersections were selected for study sites; two intersections in the urban area and the other one in Yangon suburb.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...
