Validation of Models to describe Local Transport Phenomena in Bubble Columns [PDF]
The purpose of this master thesis is to analyze existing models of gas hold-up and volumetric mass transfer. After extensive literature research, the models are quantitatively and qualitatively compared, underlining whether important aspects are ...

This study demonstrates an efficient recycling route for out‐of‐spec AlSi10Mg atomized powders through compaction and arc remelting followed by suction casting. By correlating compaction load, cooling rate, and resulting microstructure, we show that intermediate pressures (50–80 kN) and rapid cooling refine dendrites, reduce porosity, and enhance ...

Effect of Baffles on Homogenous-Heterogeneous Regime In Two Phase Bubble Column With Non-Newtonian Liquid [PDF]
This work presents a comparison of the flow region in baffled and unbaffled bubble columns with Newtonian and non-Newtonian liquids. The experiments were carried out in column of 15 cm inside diameter and 2m height with aspect ratio (L/D=4.5), using ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

The Effect of Surfactants on Characteristics of Hydrodynamic and Mass Transfer Coefficient in Gas-Liquid Dispersion Column [PDF]
This work studis the effect of liquid properties (water, solution 0.2-1.5 wt% for each of i-propanol, and n-butanol), temperature (26-55 oC) andsuperficial air velocity (1-15cm/s) on the gas holdup and mass transfercoefficient in air-liquid dispersion ...

Modelling of transient gas-liquid flow and pigging in pipes [PDF]
More and more transient gas-liquid operations in pipes are being successfully applied in the oil and gas industry. Pigging in two-phase pipelines, to remove liquid accumulation or for cleaning purposes, is an important transient operation.

Mass transfer in bubble column for industrial conditions—effects of organic medium, gas and liquid flowrates and column design [PDF]
Most of available gas–liquid mass transfer data in bubble column have been obtained in aqueous media and in liquid batch conditions, contrary to industrial chemical reactor conditions.

Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.
