Gastric parietal cell antibodies: demonstration by immunofluorescence of their reactivity with surface of the gastric parietal cells. [PDF]

open access: yesClinical and experimental immunology, 1980
Viable, intact gastric cells were obtained by pronase digestion of inverted rat stomach. The cell suspensions contained two main distinct cell population, i.e. 'large' cells (mean diameter 16 microns) and 'small' cells (mean diameter 8.5 microns). By indirect immunofluorescence on smears of dispersed rat gastric cells, the large cells were identified ...

Stimulus-associated protein in gastric parietal cell detected using antimelittin antibody

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Physiology-Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology, 1993
The bee venom polypeptide melittin binds to and inhibits the gastric hydrogen-potassium-adenosinetriphosphatase (H(+)-K(+)-ATPase). A search for parietal cell proteins with a melittin-like structure was carried out. A 67-kDa (doublet) protein, which reacted with a polyclonal antimelittin antibody, was found in purified rabbit parietal cells.

Anti-parietal cell antibody and serum pepsinogen assessment in screening for gastric carcinoma

Digestive and Liver Disease, 2006
Anti-parietal cell antibody is found in patients with Helicobacter pylori-positive gastritis and is related to atrophic gastritis and gastric carcinoma.To identify the characteristics of patients at high-risk for gastric carcinoma in terms of anti-parietal cell antibody and serum pepsinogen.Subjects were 92 H. pylori-positive patients (54 men, 38 women;

PARIETAL-CELL ANTIBODIES IN PATIENTS WITH DUODENAL ULCER AND GASTRIC CANCER

The Lancet, 1967
Abstract Circulating parietal-cell antibodies in patients with duodenal ulcer were found to be in the lower range of normal. In a group of patients who had undergone subtotal gastrectomy, the range was still quite low. In a group of patients with gastric carcinoma the range was also no higher than normal.

Prevalence of gastric parietal cell antibodies and intrinsic factor antibodies in primary biliary cirrhosis

Clinica Chimica Acta, 2010
We investigated the prevalence of antibodies against gastric parietal cells (GPA), intrinsic factor antibodies (IFA) and the presence of pernicious anemia in a large cohort of primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) patients as similar data is missing.157 PBC patients and 357 controls (73 with autoimmune hepatitis (AIH), 35 primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC),

Incidence of Gastric Parietal Cell Antibody in Families of Patients with Iron Deficiency Anaemia

British Journal of Haematology, 1966
There is an association of pernicious anaemia with iron deficiency anaemia (Faber and Gram, 1924). There is also a high incidence (85 per cent) of gastric parietal cell antibody in the sera of patients with pernicious anaemia (Taylor, Roitt, Doniach, Couchman and Shapland, 1962) and a less marked, but significantly increased incidence (33 per cent) in ...

The IgA Type Parietal Cell Antibody in Gastric Juice

1985
Abstract The parietal cell antibody (PCA) of each immunoglobulin class, including secretory IgA (SIgA), in gastric juice and serum was examined by immunofluorescent method in order to investigate the local immune response of the gastric mucosa. The immunoglobulin class of the PCA in gastric juice was mainly IgA in contrast to the IgG class in serum ...

Acta Paediatrica, 1980
Abstract. Kokkonen, J. (Department of Paediatrics, University of Oulu, Oulu, Finland). Parietal cell antibodies and gastric secretion in children with diabetes mellitus. Acta Paediatr Scand, 69:485, 1980.—Circulating parietal cell antibodies (PCA) were found in 8 (5.4 %) out of 147 diabetic children screened.
