Parietal Cell Antibodies among Peruvians with Gastric Pathologic Changes
Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1993Parietal cell antibodies were present in 12% of 272 Peruvians presenting for endoscopy. Gender, age, socioeconomic status, ethnic background (Peruvian versus Japanese), and altitude at which the patient lived were not associated with the presence of parietal cell antibodies.

Gastric Parietal Cell Antibodies in Young Men with Alcoholism and with Non-Ulcer Dyspepsia
Digestion, 2009A series of 101 young men comprising alcoholics, patients presenting with non-ulcer dyspepsia (NUD) and healthy controls was investigated for incidence of antibodies against gastric parietal cells, thyroglobulin and thyroid microsomes and for chronic gastritis as revealed by gastric biopsy. Alcohol is shown to be a cause of chronic gastritis.

A solid phase immunoradiometric assay for gastric parietal cell antibodies.
Clinical and experimental immunology, 1984We recently described a solid phase immunoradiometric assay (IRMA) for anti-thyroglobulin and anti-thyroid microsomal antibodies. In the present study a similar IRMA for gastric parietal cell antibodies (PCA) has been developed. Samples to be tested are incubated within wells of polyvinyl microtitre plates coated with solubilized gastric microsomal ...

Parietal cell antibodies (PCA) are found in up to 90% of sera from pernicious anaemia patients but it is often stated that they could represent an epiphenomenon without being directly responsible for the achlorhydria. In the present studies a direct effect of these antibodies on the secretory function of gastric acid-secreting cells has been ...

We investigated serum levels of anti-parietal cell antibody (APCA) in relation to various gastric diseases. Subjects were 224 Japanese patients including 58 with gastric cancer. All patients underwent gastroscopy, and APCA was investigated by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

[Antibodies against gastric parietal cells in gastritis (author's transl)].
La Nouvelle presse medicale, 1981Antibodies directed against gastric parietal cells were investigated in the serum and gastric mucosa of 45 patients with gastritis, and the results were compared with those of standard histological examination and direct immunofluorescence studies on biopsy specimens.

[Antibodies against gastric parietal cells and thyroglobulin in various diseases in humans].
Vnitrni lekarstvi, 1992The authors examined antibodies against antigen of gastric parietal cells using the method of reaction of complement-binding and the immunofluorescence test in 662 patients. Concurrently they examined in 443 patients of this group also antibodies against thyroglobulin. The group comprised 312 men and 350 women. For statistical evaluation the chi 2 test

Cytotoxic activities of P.C.A. to normal parietal cells were demonstrated in vitro. The changes were very similar to those of thyroid cells provoked by Hashimoto serum. The cytotoxic component was found to be immunoglobulin G. Complement was not added.
