Gaussian splatting holography

open access: yes
In-line holography offers high space-bandwidth product imaging with a simplified lens-free optical system. However, in-line holographic reconstruction is troubled by twin images arising from the Hermitian symmetry of complex fields. Twin images disrupt the reconstruction in solving the ill-posed phase retrieval problem.

Direct numerical simulation of unsheared turbulence diffusing toward a free-slip or no-slip surface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The physics involved in the interaction between statistically steady, shearless turbulence and a blocking surface is investigated with the aid of direct numerical simulation. The original conguration introduced by Campagne et al.

Leveraging Part‐Based NeRF for Robot Self‐Modeling and Control

open access: yesSmartBot, Volume 1, Issue 4, December 2025.
A robot stands in front of a camera, striking a variety of distinct poses to provide diverse visual data. The camera then captures these images in sequence, storing every detail of the robot’s body position and movements. Using this visual input, the robot can gradually process and analyze the information, ultimately developing a basic sense of self ...

The Potential of Neural Radiance Fields and 3D Gaussian Splatting for 3D Reconstruction from Aerial Imagery [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
In this paper, we focus on investigating the potential of advanced Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) and 3D Gaussian Splatting for 3D scene reconstruction from aerial imagery obtained via sensor platforms with an almost nadir-looking camera.

Revising Densification in Gaussian Splatting

open access: yes
In this paper, we address the limitations of Adaptive Density Control (ADC) in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), a scene representation method achieving high-quality, photorealistic results for novel view synthesis. ADC has been introduced for automatic 3D point primitive management, controlling densification and pruning, however, with certain limitations ...

Femtosecond Laser Plasmonic Nanolithography for Color Printing in Silicon

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 6, Issue 10, October 2025.
Synergistic ion implantation and femtosecond laser writing precisely control plasmonic nanoparticles (NPs) in silicon, creating tunable nanostructures. This method enables self‐assembled stripes, embedded nanorods, and semiembedded particles for applications in color printing, information storage, and ultrasensitive surface‐enhanced Raman scattering ...

GaPMeS: Gaussian Patch-Level Mixture-of-Experts Splatting for Computation-Limited Sparse-View Feed-Forward 3D Reconstruction

open access: yesApplied Sciences
To address the issues of parameter coupling and high computational demands in existing feed-forward Gaussian splatting methods, we propose Gaussian Patch-level Mixture-of-Experts Splatting (GaPMeS), a lightweight feed-forward 3D Gaussian reconstruction ...

3D Gaussian Splatting Methods for Real-World Scenarios [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences
3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) is an innovative solution for explicit point-based 3D representation where each point is represented as a Gaussian distribution. Using calibrated images and sparse point cloud for initialization, the scene is reconstructed by

Scalable 3D video of dynamic scenes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this paper we present a scalable 3D video framework for capturing and rendering dynamic scenes. The acquisition system is based on multiple sparsely placed 3D video bricks, each comprising a projector, two grayscale cameras, and a color camera ...

Highlighting objects of interest in an image by integrating saliency and depth

open access: yes, 2017
Stereo images have been captured primarily for 3D reconstruction in the past. However, the depth information acquired from stereo can also be used along with saliency to highlight certain objects in a scene. This approach can be used to make still images
