Disentangling Oil Weathering Using GC×GC. 1. Chromatogram Analysis

open access: yesEnvironmental Science & Technology, 2007
Historically, the thousands of compounds found in oils constituted an "unresolved complex mixture" that frustrated efforts to analyze oil weathering. Moreover, different weathering processes inflict rich and diverse signatures of compositional change in oil, and conventional methods do not effectively decode this elaborate record.

Enzymatic digestion and selective quantification of underivatised [delta]9-tetrahydrocannabinol and cocaine in human hair using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Gas chromatography-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) methods for drug analysis routinely employ derivatising reagents. The aim of this paper was to develop a method for the analysis of two recreational drugs, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol ([delta](9)-THC) and ...

GC×GC-TOFMS analysis of ethanodiamondoids in Ordovician oil from well SN1, Tarim Basin

open access: yesShiyou shiyan dizhi, 2023
By 2D gas chromatography and time-of-flight mass spectrometry (GC×GC-TOFMS), 81 ethanodiamondoids with 1-3 cages were detected quantitatively in Ordovician crude oil from well SN1, Shuntuoguole area, Tarim Basin, including 47 ethanoadamantanes with total

4-t-Butylbenzylation of carboxylic acid for GC–MS analysis

open access: yesSN Applied Sciences, 2020
We report a 4-t-butylbenzyl derivatization for the analysis of carboxylic acids by GC–MS (EI). Carboxylic acids were analyzed as a 4-t-butylbenzyl ester after the derivatization with 4-t-butylbenzyl bromide. On the mass spectra of 4-t-butylbenzyl ester, [

GC-MS and GC×GC-ToF-MS analysis of roasted / broth flavors produced by Maillard reaction system of cysteine-xylose-glutamate

open access: yesCurrent Research in Food Science, 2023
Maillard reaction products (MRPs) with roasted/broth flavors were prepared and analyzed for the resulting flavor differences. The identification of volatile compounds in MRPs was carried out by GC-MS and GC × GC-ToF-MS.

Evidence for a Weak Galactic Center Magnetic Field from Diffuse Low Frequency Nonthermal Radio Emission [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
New low-frequency 74 and 330 MHz observations of the Galactic center (GC) region reveal the presence of a large-scale ($6\arcdeg\times 2\arcdeg$) diffuse source of nonthermal synchrotron emission. A minimum energy analysis of this emission yields a total
