A Functional Joint Model for Survival and Multivariate Sparse Functional Data in Multi‐Cohort Alzheimer's Disease Study

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 3-5, February 2026.
ABSTRACT We develop an integrative joint model for multivariate sparse functional and survival data to analyze Alzheimer's disease (AD) across multiple studies. To address missing‐by‐design outcomes in multi‐cohort studies, our approach extends the multivariate functional mixed model (MFMM), which integrates longitudinal outcomes to extract shared ...

Genetic evaluation of climate resilient sugarcane clones under waterlogged condition

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding
Waterlogging, an abiotic stress situation, affects sugarcane yields by 15-20 percent. The present study sought to identify sugarcane clones suitable for waterlogging conditions.

Automatic computation of hierarchical biquadratic smoothing splines with minimum GCV

open access: yesComputers & Geosciences, 2006
A computationally efficient numerical strategy for fitting approximate minimum GCV bivariate thin plate smoothing splines to large noisy data sets was developed. The procedure discretises the bivariate thin plate smoothing spline equations using biquadratic B-splines and uses a nested grid SOR iterative strategy to solve the discretised system.

Integrating Urban Expansion and Flood Risk: A Spatial Assessment of Impervious Surface Growth and Floodplain Exposure in Mecklenburg County (2011–2021)

open access: yesWorld Water Policy, Volume 12, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Urban expansion significantly impacts flood risk, particularly in rapidly growing areas where impervious surfaces exacerbate surface runoff. This study examines spatial patterns of urban growth and their effects on flood exposure in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, from 2011 to 2021.

Genetic variability, character association and diversity study in nutmeg (Myristica fragrans Houtt)

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding
A panel of 25 nutmeg genotypes were evaluated at the Horticulture Research Station, Pechiparai, Kanyakumari district from 2019 to 2022 for the pattern of genetic divergence and relationship among them based on seven morphological traits by cluster and ...

Influence of continuous and pulsed light on the yield and phytochemical composition of Capsicum annuum L. cv. ‘Padrón’

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 1, Page 283-291, 15 January 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Sweet pepper (Capsicum annuum) is of considerable socio‐economic importance and is among the most widely cultivated vegetables worldwide, occupying more than 20 000 km2. Light‐emitting diodes (LEDs), applied in continuous or pulsed modes, can increase yield and improve the phytochemical composition in indoor production systems ...

Semantic Embedding of Petri Nets into Event-B

open access: yes, 2005
We present an embedding of Petri nets into B abstract systems. The embedding is achieved by translating both the static structure (modelling aspect) and the evolution semantics of Petri nets.

Semiparametric models and P-splines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
P-splines were introduced by Eilers and Marx (1996). We consider semiparametric models where the smooth part of the model can be described by P-splines. A mixed model representation is also considered.

Surprises in High-Dimensional Ridgeless Least Squares Interpolation

open access: yes, 2020
Interpolators -- estimators that achieve zero training error -- have attracted growing attention in machine learning, mainly because state-of-the art neural networks appear to be models of this type.

GKB-GCV Method for Solving Generic Tikhonov Regularization Problems

open access: yesGSTF Journal of Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research, 2016
AbstractThe W-GCV method is one of the iterative methods used to solve a large scale Vtandard form of the Tikhonov regularization, but it is also necessary for solving the general form of the Tikhonov regularization. This paper proposes a new solver, called GKB-GCV, which is an extension of the W-GCV by using the GSVD.
